Definitely an older hotel, but the room was very nice and bed was comfortable. I would have given a 5 star, except the window in the bathroom had no shade. It was frosted, but at night with the lights on, you could see when someone was sitting on the toilet!

Staying 3 nights. Wifi a bit weak and slow
Beds are comfortable. I like that the tree is no carpet. It's just a few minutes from the beach. The area is a little confusing to drive in, and GPS not much help. Very nice staff. Worth the money.

Reserved two rooms for a golf outing at a very reasonable rate. The motel is older, but the rooms are very well maintained and was one of the cleanest rooms I've stayed in. There is a pool and courtyard but we did not use it.

This is the greatest little hotel! The room was very clean. The bed was so comfortable. We especially loved the French doors that opened up into the inner courtyard. Out in the courtyard was a beautiful pool and cute places to sit. They also had grills that you could cook ou

My son stayed at the Island Sun Inn while looking for a house in Venice and highly recommended it to me when I came down to help him move into his house. Very convenient location with a pool, umbrella covered sitting areas, clean barbecue pits for guest to use and even bicycles

Is it safe to walk around the area at night? I'm thinking of staying here at new year and wondering if walking home from sharkys will be ok if there are no cabs available
The area seems to be very safe and laid back; it's not Miami, or anything like that. This area is a cozy little secret because it's close enough to Sarasota without being a tourist area filled with jerks. It's just a quieter and nice little town. Feel free to enjoy the holidays here!! Swim at the hotel at night too, just be quiet about it!! Merry Christmas and happy New Year!! ENJOY!!!
