We stayed here for 6 nights over 2 different dates due to a family bereavement. The Hotel has the potential to be a very good but needs some modernisation & refurbishment, the Hotel is an old building & first impressions are not as could as they could be due to several maintenance issues on the outside. Check in was easy,...

Hotel looks very pretty from the outside....room was acceptable. Evening meal was good...but breakfasts....you couldn't make it up! The Fawlty towers of Yorkshire!...one very young and inexperienced waitress on duty....the hotel wasn't busy...but there seemed to be no efficiency or order to anything...only very basic cereals and juices out on the table...no fruit at all...morning one the milk and butter...

my daughter recently got married at this hotel. We wanted a smaller, more intimate venue and Durker Roods fit the bill.. The day went extremely smoothly with the help of our wonderful wedding planner, Chrissie. The room for the ceremony and the reception room were both laid out beautifully and just as we'd expected. The food was well presented and...

We managed to get a good deal and arranged a Friday stay ( couldn't get two nights for any of the weekends I wanted, very popular) so we drove through beautiful villages and some lovely driving roads to get to this hotel, which was through a modern, yet old style local stone estate. Entrance was welcoming and staff very helpful....

The hotel is tired and dated and the decor isn't in keeping with the elegant outside. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, if a little inexperienced. The room was a mismatch of styles and looked very basic although was warm. The bedding and towels were clean but the bathroom was not, having marks on the outside of the loo, fluff...
