Bagby State Park is a beautiful place, to be certain. I could've spent hours admiring the lake. It's very remote, and I always welcome the chance to disconnect occasionally. The lodge restaurant is quite good and worth a visit. Every staff member was welcoming and friendly, particularly the restaurant manager. On the whole, I'd say the rooms are acceptable. They're...

My husband and I loved spending our 10 year wedding anniversary here so much, we decided to come back on our 11th! Once again, we had a wonderful time! We got home today and have already made our reservations for May! Thank you George T. Bagby for your GREAT accommodations!

What a beautiful historic place. This is the facility that was responceable for the great tissue paper shortage of south Georgia and southern Alabama. Tissue paper from all over the surounding area was utilized in the construction fo the walls and roofs of the George Bagby Lodge. The results of this construction method is quit apparent within minuets of checking...

Our stay at the lodge was enjoyable but the lodge food was very disappointing. With the lodge being so remote, that is about the only choice. The view of the lake was beautiful at sunset. The park has limited amount of hiking trails.

This is a beautiful state park with accommodations for a group. We visited with 10 other couples this past weekend for a special Valentine road trip with our car club and could not ask for better food or service from an excellent staff. So much to offer with the beautiful lake for fishing, golf course and bike riding.

This is a wonderful park, we saw so many different birds while we were here. The park was very clean with picnic tables also has a beautiful lodge. We camped at Corp of Engineers, Cotton Hill campground just down the road on Hwy. 39, Fort Gaines which was also wonderful. We had a site on the water and saw eagles,...

Was very disappointed in our stay for two nights. The cottages are on the lake and it is a beautiful view. They are not keeping the cottages up. The ceiling fan in the living room could not be used because it was almost ready to fall. The kitchen hardly had any pots and pans. An electrical outlet in the bathroom...

The Lodge rooms, pool and the entire State park itself was very nice and we enjoyed our stay, except for their restaurant. The food at the evening meal appeared to be re-heated, over-cooked, and left over from their lunch buffet. The only option for desert was chocolate pie, which was still frozen, and a few individual pieces of various cake...

We enjoyed Bagby and it met most of our expectations except for dining. We stayed in the two room "General Gaines Suite" which was clean and decent, similar to an economy motel room. King bed was FIRM and the living room couch was shot and needed replacement. Upon arrival, we learned that the restaurant was closed because "business was so...

My husband and I decided to celebrate our ten years of marriage here at George T. Bagby. The staff was extremely welcoming, the scenery was beautiful, and I cannot wait to go back! If you are looking for a "Five Star Resort" this is not the place for you. George T. Bagby is a place where you can be one...
