We arrived early and Beth accommodated us by having our room cleaned first. In the meantime, we sat in front of the fire and became engrossed in our books. When our room was clean, Beth gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us the common areas and our room, named The Appalachia. It was one of the newest...

My boyfriend and I came to the Inn to share our first night together as a couple. I was amazed at how comfortable and cozy it is. It's stunning and beautiful. My only complaint is the walls are so thin so it made intimacy a little awkward. Regardless the night was still magical!

I am glad that your stay with us was "magical" and we hope to see you again on your anniversary! The historic rooms on the second floor were built in 1922 when sound-proofing insulation was not available, so unfortunately, sound does travel easily between the walls. I recommend you try one of our new "Green Loft" rooms on the third...

The hubs and I stayed here for two nights as a kid-free get away to rest and enjoy some time alone. We were not disappointed! Lake Rabun Hotel was a very cozy and romantic getaway. We stayed in the Andreae room on the second floor, which faces the front of the building and has it's own private gas fire place...

My wife and I spent a couple's weekend away here back in September 2016. Loved the place - quiet and private - but not lonely as there were other folks around. I recently saw this place listed as one of the top 10 getaways for couples close to Atlanta. I would highly recommend this place and we intend to visit...

I am glad to hear that you and your wife got to spend some quality time together in our historic inn. We look forward to serving you in the future!

Lake Rabun Hotel is way over priced for the small rooms, tiny bathrooms, paper thin walls, no TV in rooms, poor heating and the many stairs without an elevator. However the staff is very friendly, the lobby is nicely decorated and the breakfast is ok.

I apologize that our rustic lodge built in 1922 did not meet your expectations. I am glad that you found our staff to be friendly and our decorations pleasing, and I hope that you will give us another chance. As our website indicates, there are no phones or TV's in the rooms for a reason....we want you to spend quality...

My husband surprised me by treating me to the Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant. We enjoyed a cheese platter with a bottle of wine on one of their decks. It was quiet, lovely and we had a marvelous afternoon. "Meow" the cat joined us for awhile as well. At dinner in the restaurant, I gobbled up my fish special and...

My husband and I stayed at the Lake Rabun Hotel for the first time on our anniversary in 2011. We loved it ... quaint cozy rooms, great food, and friendly yet professional staff. We have been back at least once or twice a year since ... sometimes to stay overnight and other times to enjoy dinner or brunch. This year...

We had the best time visiting the Lake Rabun Hotel. Because it was the week after Thanksgiving it was very quiet. We felt the hotel was absolutely perfect and would have stayed longer if we could. Totally charming. We will definitely return.

My goodness! What a treat. It is a traveling day you really kind of dread, but when you pull into this hilltop inn, with red and yellow fall dripping all around it, and the lake glistening in low light all day long, it was worth it. Dinner was four star. Better than an atl restaurant bc the plates were full!...

My wife drove up to the North Georgia mountains last weekend. We stayed at the Lake Rabin Hotel and had dinner in the restaurant. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant celebrated its 90th birthday in 2012. It's the last surviving mountain lodge on a lake in Georgia. Because it has stayed true to the look and the feeling of another, perhaps more peaceful, time, it's been called both a regional and a national treasure. For decades generations have enjoyed the beauty of the lake and mountains. Carefully restored by preservationists in 2008 to maintain its ancestral charm, it features gardens of native plants, rock pillars and walkways, locust log decks, and balconies with views of Lake Rabun and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Lake Rabun is one of the most beautiful lakes in the mountains of North Georgia. ... more   less
