The staff was very welcoming. The room was rustic and cozy. There are larger common areas that are casual living spaces. It has an intimate, comfortable setting. Cookies and snacks are provided during the day and the breakfast was WONDERFUL! The hotel has a small bar and excellent restaurant. It is nicely landscaped with patios and decks. Wonderful location.

We had dined here once before about a year ago and had really enjoyed it, so we were looking forward to coming here again. We were really disappointed. Something has changed here. Not the same level of food or service. Ordered the house salad that sound delicious - described as including cranberries, pecans, and Maytag blue cheese. At $9, I...

We appreciate any and all guest feedback, and strive to make our guests' experience a positive one. We have spoken with our Chef about the salad, and we are working to improve the quality (and the size) of the LRH House Salad. And while we would love to move the sun if it is being a nuisance to our guests,...

My husband and I travelled with friends for a weekend break, so the guys could fly fish and the girls just relax. The Lake Rabun hotel was a great place to stay. The food is wonderful and everyone on the staff is helpful and friendly and can't do enough for you. We stayed in the Inn Keepers cottage which was...

First if all the hotel has loads of charm and rustic elegance. Charm is in the way the staff make you feel at home, the little touches like fresh cookies from the kitchen everyday, nooks everywhere, board games if you want some indoor entertainment, a nice fireplace and a baby grand piano in the lobby. The property is beautiful and...

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and referred to stay in the "cute and quaint hotel by the lake." Ugh.....The second we walked in the door we were greeted with the only person working there behind a desk....does not even look at us....."what's your last name and will you be using the credit card on file?"...No...

Upon entering the building, we always greet our guests, so I apologize if this was not done to you. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day. You would not even step foot into your room, so I'm not sure how you can make the comment about it being dusty. We make no illusions about the size of our rooms. In...

The staff were friendly and helpful; the rooms had a charming mountain ambiance to them, and the overall experience was great. The hotel's a short distance from Lake Rabun (which is gorgeous) and Tallulah Falls (which is worth the trip).

Our overall experience at Lake Rabun Hotel was very pleasant. We rented the full keeper's cottage. There was three guests: our daughter, my wife and myself We were greeted by Ken who politely showed the place around. The cottage is very well equipped, confortable and 'homy'. It respects the original style, including everything necessary for confort We had dinner at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant celebrated its 90th birthday in 2012. It's the last surviving mountain lodge on a lake in Georgia. Because it has stayed true to the look and the feeling of another, perhaps more peaceful, time, it's been called both a regional and a national treasure. For decades generations have enjoyed the beauty of the lake and mountains. Carefully restored by preservationists in 2008 to maintain its ancestral charm, it features gardens of native plants, rock pillars and walkways, locust log decks, and balconies with views of Lake Rabun and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Lake Rabun is one of the most beautiful lakes in the mountains of North Georgia. ... more   less
