Stayed here for one night while visiting family nearby. Had a nice, ground floor room overlooking the park, with a huge bed. Nice to have an en suite bath too. The room was clean overall with good attention to detail, however there was a layer of dust on the headboard and surrounding fixtures and fittings + a rather shoddy repair...

I stayed here for 3 nights and ate here at breakfast and for 2 evening meals. What a fabulous hotel and restaurant. The staff are excellent and the food is just delicious! The rooms are spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. A great stay

Good clean comfortable room with en suite. Found menu a little wanting and did not like decor in dining room but thats a personal choice. Breakfast good and parking to be had. Local parks around and pretty heritage sight near ponds if interested

Time moves on I know but I preferred the Duke when it was a cosy (and busy) pub a few years back before its makeover it seems just to have lost its character a bit - unlike the Greyhound up the road which went through the same thing recently (perhaps that is down to the brilliant barman they have who...

We have stayed here befoe as it is close to family and always been happy with our stay, and this visit was no different. We arrived in mid evening and check in was quick and straight forward. The room overlooking the green was comfortable and surprisingly quiet, despite the traffic. We didn't have the chance to sample the evening menu,...

How do you review a hotel that you never got to stay in. Well, it's quite simple - just say it as it is. I have reviewed much in my time as I am on road in uk and Europe a lot. I always look for a value deal. Never has this ever happened to me, and I am flabbergasted...

Hi Mr Cooper, Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience at our hotel on 13th September 2016. I would first like to apologise about what happened and can ensure you that this is not standard practice at the Duke’s Head. There was a communication error between our reception team and booking.com and I can understand your frustration at not...

Pleasantly surprised, although a chain pub and restaurant (Youngs)it's still a bit of original charm. Eaten here a few times, not the cheapest but in line with this type of place. Food always good, although last steak wasn't cooked as ordered. But all good quality. Good selection of drinks, again going rate for the area. Not stayed in the hotel...

A lovely little hotel close to shops. Arrived to a friendly professional welcome. Check in was quick. Our room was large and comfortable with an enormous bed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and quick. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We've been coming here for years. The food and drink is a bit expensive but you do actually get what you pay for. Just as importantly the main member of staff - Tina - is always very professional and helpful and is a credit to the pub. She seems to live there and whatever they pay her she deserves more!

A bit torn for a review between three and four. Couldn't fault service and the food is good although formulaic. Funnily the daily specials board has both dishes also on printed menu. So not really special at all. The sticky toffee cheesecake was tasty but so sweet it stripped enamel from teeth. At the table we were 8 but the...
