Grand Kampar Hotel, a 3 star deluxe hotel in Kampar, lies within Kinta Valley, close proximity to Cameron Highlands, Perak, Malaysia. Grand Kampar Hotel is an impressive Spanish architecture and situated in the heart of Taman Bandar Baru Kampar, which is the fastest growing township in the area. The town was a centre in the tin mine industry, founded in 1887. The name Kampar was derived from the Cantonese words "kam pou." It means 'precious gold' and refers to the town's previously large tin reserves. Located within the vicinity of this hotel is Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman, University Tunku Abdul Rahman (Main Campus), banks, corporations and factories. A wide variety of restaurants and bistros are within walking distance. Eco-recreation activities such as bird watching, trekking, fishing, caving and white water rafting are within easy reach. For good and cheap dining in Kampar, there is so much to offer. Guests can dine in under the cozy atmosphere of the in-house cafe which serves Asian and Western cuisines. We also cater for a wide variety of Chinese cuisines in our in-house Chinese restaurant.
We rejected the first room because of hygiene concerns. We lived with the replacement. The room was dated, seemed humid and not comfortable. Bird poo covered the ledges and walls of the building, visible from the room. The path to the guest parking at the back stink with food waste and stagnant liquid. Breakfast was not good

We had a very good experience staying at this hotel, although its only for 1 night. Arrived and checked in during evening time. Next morning we had a delicious breakfast. This hotel was a bit old and needed some renovation but its fine.

Check in during 4th to 6th Raya. Went for breakfast and was shock they serve the empty tray. Nasi Lemak with NO sambal & need to wait even its the only choice? Come on its 9am and so many empty seats since mostly already give up waiting. Tv is so 90s with 3 channel only, not sure either flat screen tv is so expensive these days. Please avoid check-out around 11.30 because they always have other functions at the rooftop and its almost impossible for u to use their elevator. I wait for 30 minutes till give up and use their horrible staircase. Others still patiently waited even they had complaint to the staff for waiting so long. Bye Bye No More....

The room facilities were good but we have bad experience as when we checked in, in the evening, thot hot water for shower tripped apparently & no hot water supply. It was a rainy day & we had to have ice cold shower at night. It took them more than 6 hours to rectify this. parking was very limited & no reserved parking for checked-in customers. Other than that, the rest is very good. Breakfast is also good - Malaysian style.

Parking - make sure to park at hotel parking behind hotel. There's no signboard from the entrance to inform more parking available. I've been fines by Majlis Perbandaran because I thought the parking in front of hotel can be use. Lobby - The staff are not that friendly, if you are not booking they answered nak x nak je. There's no shame in smiling to your customer. Room - It's time you change the tv into LCD, only few channel are accessible. Not as claimed at remote controller. The air-conditioned is functioning well but it make your nose and throat dry. Toilet - Toothbrush, toothpaste, and hair conditioning not provided. There's hair in bathtub from previous tenant. Pls change the head sprinkler, maybe you got it since the 90's. The pressure water from shower also low.

Stayed here for one night after coming down from Gopeng. Hotel was located in a strategic area with Mining Museum nearby, cafes and easily accessible to other nice restaurants. Room was clean and maintained. Restaurant and housekeeping staff were friendly. Our only comment is one lady at the check in counter (we checked in on 1Aug), her face like she was forced to sit there. She’s not suitable to work as a front counter with the sour face all day long. Other front counter staff are ok. In fact the staff working as a temperature taker at the entrance are friendlier than her. Since it’s still RMCO, ala carte breakfast is served. Simple but good enough. Ample Parking area available. Nice small swimming pool at the roof top. Overall we had a good experience in this hotel.

Spacious & clean room, sufficient amenities. Good services and friendly staffs. Spacious surroundings are suitable for family with children on safety concern. Lots of shops within walking distances. Social distancing measures implemented with limited choices of breakfast selection.
