We chose Malihom after doing all our research - TripAdvisor reviews etc etc., and sure enough, the setting of the hotel is absolutely stunning - 2km up a 12-hairpin single track road, on top of a mountain with magnificent views to both East and West....More
We stayed at Malihom on 12th Feb for our earlier valentine's day celebration. It was a slow and lazy Sunday. We were the only guest in the house. The management was very kind to fulfilled my request of "We want a barn with open air...More
We arrived at Malihom after an arduous journey from Langkawi - but we had a fabulous welcome! Even though it was late, our hosts made us a bespoke dinner (even though it was after midnight!). The following days were filled with fabulous food, absolute relaxation,...More
Malihom is an older property. It is owned by a well-placed Penang family who built it as a getaway for family and friends. Since 2007, paying guests have been welcomed. After the hustle and traffic of Georgetown it is certainly a welcome respite.

July is their durian season. The General Manager James is probably the only person who is available to pick up the durians. I am sure he is willing to accommodate your request if no other guests object to having durians there. I am a durian lover. But I find it most offensive of the smell left behind in the car or room after placing durians there. So I would recommend that you make a trip out and have as much durian as you like at the plantations. The costs will be most affordable. Just ask James.
