Just wow. The photos on the website don't do it justice. Tropical setting on a tranquil mountain overlooking George Town one way and the Straits of Malacca the other. Breathtaking views abound. We spent two nights here and emerged totally relaxed and refreshed. All meals are included here and are a Burmese/Western fusion. Servings are generous and just delicious. Our...

Very special lodging style, i got a cabin with attached semi open bathroom, and below the bedroom, there is an open-air sitting area with hammock with wonderful jungle view and birds singing around. Staffs are helpful and attentive, i have spent 3 relaxing days here doing sweet nothing. brought some books with me as suggested but only finished one. spent...

We were looking for a quiet place in the forest to be just my wife and I, and we found it : this hotel is lost in the very jungle and is the perfect place for a couple that wants to spend all the time together in a quiet and peaceful environment. If you’re looking for a resort that will...

Finding the place is not very easy, especially with standard GPS systems and it is advisable to ask for directions to the staff. Once there, this is paradise on Earth. The place is a magical combination of closeness to nature, fine details of decoration and gardening, leveraging a unique site with a view on both sides of the island of...

Our family of four (girls aged 10 and 4) had a fantastic stay at our barn, Baanmai. Loved the verandah overlooking the first Penang bridge, with our own hammock. The room is well equipped with modern amenities and good bedding. We looked forward to each meals, with fine dining quality food. Service from the staff was excellent, all were very...

Booked last minute for our stay at the Malihom. It was utterly gorgeous! We stayed in the Sanook barn. It has the most fabulous views over to the sea and sunset. What a pleasure to wake up in the morning, throw open the doors and soak up the view. Would recommend a stay there to anyone. It was delicious; as...

The drive up to the mountain top is breathtaking. But once arrived you look at large tracks of forest cut down. The hotel's own so called jungle trail is littered by plastic debris. The villas close to the (very nice) pool may be disturbed by the pool pumps. But the food and the service provided by Burmese staff is good.

We really enjoyed staying in Khanun rice barn. View on George town and forest was great. We also liked to hear birds singing and rain while using outdoor bathtub in separate bathroom with view on trees. It's a fabulous place to relax, rest, admire nature and cheer up:-) Staff ist very attentive and discreet: They made our stay very comfortable....

Very nice place. Travelled with 2 young kids. Room: Khanun house is a charming wooden house. Overlooking the Penang bridge. The room has a king bed + single bed. 2 toilets, 1 bath tub, tea maker, fridge..., equipped with all the essentials. The only complaint maybe: TV screen too small. Room was nicely decorated with hibiscus. Flower bath was prepared...

Malihom had given us a really good experience. We went in a group of 3 so we picked Khanun the room which cater for 3 person. The room was spacious and the weather has been cooling enough to replace the air-conditioner. Min the private estate manager was kind enough to help us drive our car up to the hill as...
