I recently stayed at Audi Guest House in Balik Pulau, Penang, Malaysia and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The family room accommodations where I stayed are simple and basic but very clean and comfortable. There is a hot water shower and air conditioning, if you need it during the cool nights. Mosquitoes were not a problem while I was there. There are plenty of food outlets just a short drive away, including local Chinese and Malay cuisine. The purpose of my visit was to join a bicycle eco-tour booked through the Audi Guest House. There are plenty of bicycles to choose from and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our very knowledgeable tour guide led us through beautiful padi fields, an organic vegetable and flower farm, a local fishing village and mangrove forest. This part of Penang Island is very picturesque. The route is mostly flat terrain and not very physically strenuous. I highly recommend including Audi Guest House during your next family holiday in Penang, Malaysia.

Stayed at Deluxe Family room, which allow to accommodate up to 6 adults indeed. This room just next to the shared bathroom which i found very convenient to the guest. The owner is friendly and showed us the cycling route which good and sufficient for us to cycling around with kids. Pro: got bicycle for rent, but take note just a normal bike. if you wanna go for MTB, bring your own good bicycle. Food: Within cycling distance and walking distance with limited selection & time. Location: Good if you wanna getting away from busy town

We paid RM20 for a rent of a bike but the quality was subpar. The stiff saddle makes your butt painful for a couple of days. One of the bike has no break, and its chain loose off a couple of time during the ride. One of the bike tyre popped after the ride. Overall, the bikes look old and rusty and don’t worth the money. Bring your own bike or I suggest you go for other options if you want to enjoy cycling in Balik Pulau.

It's a place away from city where you can enjoy very quite life. It would be good if their maintenance could be improved because the whole place not really well maintained. The place may be challenging if went with a big group as we experienced low water pressure and no water to take shower. Overall experience is ok if you just need a place to sleep.

I only stayed there because nothing else was available, due to the bridge marathon. and my flight left from Penang, so could not leave the island instead. Since it's located in the middle of nowhere you can't do anything out there without a motorcycle. A walk to the next smaller shop takes you about 45 mins each way. Dead insects in the beds, dorms haven't been cleaned ages. Staff is friendly though. The pictures reviewed in the Internet must be months old (and show the best condition the guesthouse could have, it looks way messier there and the terrace isn't really opened) They don't provide any food besides toast and noodles. the bike rental is handy, but then traveling asia i guess u have seen rice paddies before. but u can use the bike to get to the next beach, its been a nice one. there is a free shuttle to the busstop, but if it would run frequently you could use it to get into town to actually see something, but it doesn't. so only go there if you are keen on bike tours, and love the loneliness.... there won't be many travelers around.
