Surpassed my expectations. My king room with a view looked recently redone, was modern, clean, & had a great balcony with view of the ocean, the moon & stars. (Note - I did not have deluxe room right on beach, mine looked over the parking lot & pool first, but being the off season it was nice & quiet, &...

We just returned from a two night stay at the Desoto Hotel on Tybee Island. We paid extra for a true oceanfront room, complete with balcony overlooking the ocean. The view was awesome. Parking can be a bit of an issue. The parking spots are small and although we visited off season, parking was very limited. I can't imagine what...

Had never been to Tybee Island, but heard great things about it. Booked this hotel not really knowing the area, but did some online research and selected the Desoto. All in all, the stay wasn't bad. The room was clean and relatively modern. The wifi was horrible though - slow and constantly dropping the connection. Beach access was perfect -...

The weather was in the lower 70's so it wasn't very warm at all for. Nice enough room for short stay however air conditioning did not work well. Our visit was in January 2017 and would hope it works better in the summer.

Great location you can walk out to the beach. Very clean rooms with updated furniture. Breakfast left a little to be desired, could have used better less "reheat and eat" options and better coffee. Overall I would go back again.

You won't find any 5 star hotels on Tybee, but Desoto is at the top end of the scale for the area. Staff was nice, room was clean and right on the beach. We stayed at the Tybee Hotel last year, and this was head and shoulders better in our opinion. If you could pick it up and put it...

We were only there for the weekend but our oceanfront view was to die for. I can't wait to take my mom here, she always wanted to see Tybee! Cant wait to be back. A little cold but we still got on the beach every morning!

I loved this hotel! The staff was friendly and the room was so cozy and welcoming. It was convenient & relaxing. The continental breakfast was definitely a plus. I enjoyed being so close to the ocean & delicious restaurants in the area. Loved it!

Reading all the reviews saying this was the top rated hotel to stay on Tybee island, I thought this would be a good choice. We arrived, checked into room 105 next to the check-in counter which was noisy during check-in process. The sink for the bathroom was in the entryway of the room. The small bathroom was around the corner and...

Rooms are clean and updated, large flat screen tv, hotel is on the beach, unless you upgrade to more expensive room you won't have a private balcony or face the ocean. the heated pool makes this perfect for colder weather!

“If you are looking for a true "oceanfront room" with balcony, you will pay a premium.”

“Oceanview is the way to go in our opinion. We were in the building attached to the lobby which was nice since we did not have to go outside to get over to the continental breakfast. It was basic, but served the purpose. Hotel was quiet and parking was a breeze. There was a hotel bar in the resort a block down the road, but it was still closed from Hurricane Matthew. There is a Mexican Restaurant, not too far that the food was pretty good, but not a whole lot of atmosphere.”
