Hi Janine! Sorry for such a late answer. To get to lido you need to take boat no. 5.1 that will be in front of the train station - but there is also information place - so you can ask there - and you can buy there also a card for 24,48 or 72h /and with this card you can enter each boat. when you will arrive to lido you can the bus to go to Villa Stella or walk there (around 20minutes). By boat to st.mark's is also around 20 minute - so one way from Villa Stella to Venice center/st.mark's is around 40minutes. And from train station to Villa Stella you need to cellulitem around 1h (of course, you can take the speed boat - but there are expensive). About Winter season I cannot tell you much because we've been there on September. But from what I've heard it's around 5 celcius degree (and as there can be windy). But you will have to check it. With husband we've spent great time there. And breakfasts at Villa Stella are really tasty :) hope you will find those information useful ;) Best Regards, Gosia
