Although the hotel had a lovely setting right on the water front, the two rooms (booked 6 months in advance for 5 nights) were not available. No apology was offered at all, the manager was very off-hand and we were sent to the sister hotel....More
Arriving well after midday with a small child we were told that the rooms would not be available until 5.00. The reason for this was not made clear and was given a sense of mystery which we could well have done without. The person on...More

We travelwd by train from Florence. From the train station in Venice we took a water taxi to Lido. It was not expensive and the boatride was lovely. Once in Lido, we went across the street from the pier and took the local bus to the hotel. There are cabs available once off the water taxi but the best feature of riding the bus was that we were able to see other neighborhoods in Lido on our way to the hotel. I realize that this sounds complicated but it was remarkably easy for even the member of our group with mobility challenges. Good luck.
