Considering we planned to camp, the Hilander is a great deal for the price. The sheets and towels were a bit thin; the place is dated but it was clean and surprisingly quiet. Service to make reservations and check-in were great. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave oven. We'd stay again. Hampton Inns are nice but the rate...

Hilander is an older retro motel that is slightly behind the times in regards to amenties but way ahead of the curve in regards to service and location. The family run business makes every road weary traveler feel very welcomed and appreciated. This rare quality far outweighs the dated furniture in the very clean and comfortable rooms. The location is...

Have stayed here 6 times in the past 3 years while fishing in area. The rooms get worse every trip. Drapes were filthy, sink in room 230 had duct tape covering a hole, blinds were filthy and broken in bathroom. Carpets disgusting. Heater in room didn't work. Room smelled like cigarette smoke. Will not be back...

After a long day driving, the Hilander was chosen for its cheap price. Room was clean, mattress was firm in the last century. For the price, not bad. Of course I fretted about my car in the parking lot the entire evening. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

As previous reviews indicated this motel hasn't been updated since the 60's but in spite of the turquoise bathroom sink and coordinating flooring the place is clean and that is what really counts. After 10 days of travel my husband said this was the best bed thus far. No extras but coffee in the lobby and the manager/owner remembered my...

This is a retro (not by design) throwback to the 60's motel. It was probably very hip it's day and it still has all the vintage charm of that era. Although it is old it is well maintained and clean. The family who owns and run the place are very welcoming and seem genuinely happy to when guest arrive safely...

This motel is old and out-of-date. We had two rooms, each with a queen bed. The price was very good and the rooms were reasonably large but were well worn. They did appear to be clean. At one time there was a functioning swimming pool in the center of the motel but now it is not functioning and is an...

This motel looks like it came straight out of the 60s. The decor and property itself are certainly dated. That said, the room was clean, and the staff was more than hospitable. We checked in late (12am-1am) and was greeted promptly. The price is more than fair, cable (HBO), hi-speed internet, and the fridge and microwave in the room are...

So pleased that we found a very reasonable motel. the owner was so helpful and provided everything we needed. The room was older style but very clean and had everything including air conditioning, coffee maker, two beds, fridge etc.
