Attended here as a birthday celebration last week. I don't think I would return in a rush. Starters were ok but very limited choice of 3 things. Soup, pate and prawn cocktail( all quite outdated choices). Then we had the carvery. Meat was well cooked but the roast potatoes, carrots needed more cooking and the stuffing was served burnt. Very average roast...

Dear Tracy Further to your review I would like to highlight that the host of the birthday celebration both organised and paid for this special birthday meal himself. The menu which was offered for his birthday meal was very specific to his requests as was the option for only three options for each course, plus wine, tea/coffee and arrival drinks...

We stayed here last week for one night. The grounds are lovely, look out for the peacocks! The rooms are cosy and rustic with lovely old furniture etc...they may be a little tired looking but for me this adds to their charm. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster however with clearly not enough people working to keep up with...

Our room here was distinctly underwhelming. The decor looks quite dated and certainly the bathroom was in need of a drastic overhaul - the sink cupboard doors were collapsing in on themselves. Small details like room ornaments being chipped and dirty table cloths and crockery did not give the impression of a well cared for hotel. The bed is generally...

Dear sir I am sorry that you were disappointed with your room at Crockstead and have raised those comments on here without speaking to ourselves when you checked out as we could have fed this back to the bride. The bride of the wedding that you attended allocated all of the rooms on the night of their wedding and you...

Very rural setting, the hotel is very relaxed with excellent staff who are above average with the service they offer. Our bedroom was large and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom could do with some upgrading, we had cooked breakfast every morning and dinner in the evening, the chef was very good and we enjoyed the well cooked fresh...

There isn't enough words to describe how magical our wedding was at Crockstead!! From the first moment I met Ross, I knew our wedding was in capable hands. The night we stayed there was a large 18th birthday party till midnight but our rooms were secluded and we were'nt much disturbed. Very warm and helpful welcome, excellent breakfast - how nice to have scrambled eggs cooked to order. Bedroom was cosy and somewhat over-endowed with knick knacks.

A stunning venue for a stunning wedding. The staff couldn't do enough to make the wedding go without a hitch from start to finish Ross and his team new exactly how and where they needed to be without being intrusive. The food was excellent the accommodation was excellent. The staff were excellent right down to the point where my Son...

Untidy reception, boiled sweets on desk crawling out of their wrappers Doors falling off bathroom cupboard, resin furniture in bedrooms, everything looking tired and old Wine selection so limited we had to provide our own Vegetarian meal half defrosted so only half cooked and nutritionally very unbalanced, no protein content, dietary requirements had not been passed despite a phone call...

As with your friends review we are delighted to have the opportunity to expand on our experience of your stay: 1. You booked for 2 rooms on a single occupancy basis when it was in fact for two couples which their is obviously a difference in price. 2. When your husband telephoned to book a table he advised that there...

Ok let's start with the positives. Restaurant staff are great - working really hard against pretty much all the odds. What are those odds? Where do you start ? Ok - well the whole thing is like a 70s throwback - but in a bad way. The menu is all prawn cocktail , broccoli stilton soup etc. For the mains...

Dear Sir Thank you for writing your review which allows us us to feedback on our experience of your stay: 1. Your reservation was made via booking.com for two rooms on a single occupancy basis which was misleading as on arrival it was for two couples which obviously is charged at a higher rate than single occupancy. 2. With regards...

We've just spent the weekend here for my best friend's wedding. The location and venue was amazing. Ducks and peacocks to wake up to. The room was lovely and the bed really comfortable. The man on reception made my stay a happy one, with his silver hair, false nails and eyelashes, he couldn't have done anymore for us, very polite...
