The place itself is a bit dingy. We stayed in a Loft Suite on Friday and then a Condo with friends Saturday. It worked out $230 for room then $170 a couple for a three bed condo. I suppose they can get away with it because there is no competition. I felt ripped off and would stay in Medicine Hat...

We're a family of four, two girls aged 8 and 5. We stayed in a standard lodge room with two queen beds on a military rate. Room: clean, tidy and spotless. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of TV channels, TV could do with an update. Bathroom was lovely. Microwave, coffee maker and sink. No crockery or cutlery. Ground floor with...

My husband and I have stayed here twice before, the last time being a few years ago. We went to Elkwater for a 'romantic get away' and snowshoe, cross country ski etc. We rented our usual fireplace suite at the lodge and based our expectations on our prior experiences.. when we entered the hotel we expected the usual warm welcoming...

This building is only ten years old, but is already showing wear and tear. I made the comment in the lobby that they had decorated for halloween, but the cobwebs were real. There are ridges in the carpet so large they pose a trip hazard. The restaurant is closed and has been for some time. They claim it is "under...

I would not call this a "Resort" but a motel with minimal amenities, not as clean as it could be and understaffed. Nobody is manning reception at night, and during the 3 days we stayed there, the reception seemed understaffed with guests waiting in line constantly. The "Resort" had no restaurant or facility that would provide any food whatsoever. A...

I have stayed at the Lodge several times. I find it very clean, comfortable, quiet and restful. Staff are very competent, caring and knowlegable. Very nice swimming pool and hot tub. Good value. During the summer months, there are numerous trails to hike, the beach is vewry nice. It does lack 'on the beach' amenities like they used to have,ie....

We had only booked one night, and from the rate charged and location had expected something like one of Canada's grand old park hotels, but instead got motel hell. To start with, the room was so badly lit that one could hardly see in the sink/microwave alcove, one of the beds smelled bad and had a ripped sheet, and although...

I had researched the lodge and town and saw that it was limited. The 12-34 restaurant and gas station was about the only thing going. But for a natural beauty and solitude, this is the place. I crossed the border at Wild Horse. After 50 miles of rolling plains, and nothing else, Elkwater was a welcome sight. I stayed in...

We arrived at the Lodge just after the long weekend in September. We were advised that the restaurant was closed and had been for some time. How unusual to close one of the only restaurants in this village in the height of the summer tourist season. The umbrellas and tables were still up and we were told it was under...

I can confirm other guests experience. The management here is extremely rude and takes advantage of the fact that they are the only hotel in the area. When we arrived late in the evening the price was all of a sudden substantially higher than what I had been told on the phone earlier and when I complained about that I...
