We stayed here to go see Hamilton & it was great because it was right across the street. We also had drinks in the bar which was lovely. We were on the executive floor & the room was very large, but in deep need of renovation. Bathroom ugh. The club level was crowded & loud so we went out for...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Palmer House is one of my favorite hotels in the downtown Chicago area. I'm always pleased when this is where I get to stay. It is located right in the South loop area, and just a short walk from union station. I take the train into Chicago more often than fly, but its also easily AND QUICKLY accessible for...

Knowing this is a historic hotel, you have to take into consideration what "historic" truly means. I knew the rooms would be small, so I upgraded to the business executive rooms and I knew they would be noisy. Alas, there isn't much you can do to avoid that. Our room (19-164) was RIGHT next to the maid's closet - so...

My husband and I traveled to Chicago this past weekend to see Hamilton and decided to stay at the Palmer House for something special as this was our first trip as husband and wife. We had heard wonderful things about this hotel. It did not disappoint. We took in the charm of this place and the friendly and helpful staff...

It is a beautiful Hotel. The room is an updated old room, and the bathroom was small (understatement) but I've worked at vintage hotels before so I wasn't put off at all by these things. I was spoken to by anyone in the entire three days I stayed there. For a service oriented hotel, this should be a red flag.

What a treat to stay at this iconic Chicago hotel just a few blocks from the lakefront parks! We love the building's history and style. The staff were all excellent, especially the friendly, knowledgeable, professional wait staff and bartender in the Lockwood Restaurant and Bar, and the helpful bell desk staff. Our standard guest room and view were very nice,...

This is indeed a grand dame of Chicago. Nothing has changed. Service is great, very clean. A few constructive suggestions to continue to be even better. Since the bathtubs are narrow, definitely need curved shower curtain rods. Beautiful mirrors, but no lights around them so cannot use them to get ready for events. Swimming pool hasn't been cleaned since my...

Stayed here for a weekend getaway to Chicago. The location is perfect - close to the Lakeshore, trains, and all downtown has to offer. I had read reviews of the property and went into it knowing it was an older hotel so I wasn't expecting all modern amenities. I have to say, entering the hotel is breathtaking. The lobby bar...

The service was awful. They wasted ~2 hours of my time over the course of the weekend. The line was always extremely long to get to the front desk. They clearly need to staff twice as many people as they did when I was there. However, that would not have been enough to avoid the issue of assigning me to...

Recently spent a night here with my wife. Had spent a night earlier this year and was disappointed by the noise and the service. On this trip the staff was great from check-in through departure.
