Dave has created an oasis in the city. Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast is warm, comfortable, and quiet. My husband and I enjoyed delicious omelettes, and creme brûlée french toast with fresh fruit for breakfast right downstairs. And here is where I put a shout out to Kevin's coffee. I almost hate to share how very very nice this place is... More

The rooms are older but have a coziness about them. They aren't cleaned during your stay, which is fine but fresh towels, ect would be nice. The air conditioner was window units which is okay, but the one in our room didn't cool off the room very well. The best part of the place is the Polo Cafe itself. The... More

Fantastic attentive staff, it’s like staying at a good old friend’s house who is also a first class chef. The owner is always around to meet and greet you, they offer rides to the train station. They were nice enough to let us have a VERY late check out since they didn’t need the room and our plane was leaving... More

This B-n-B is in a beautiful, inconspicuous building. We stayed in the Mayor's Suite two-bedroom suite which was nicely appointed and very spacious with old-world charm. The attached Polo Cafe owner and staff are first rate and friendly. The food was great with service to match. The Creme brûlée French toast with their special syrup became my breakfast of choice!... Bridgeport is a suburb of Chicago but is easily assessable to the city by public transport only 400 metres from the door. Catch a bus from 35th street then the red line train, for $25 for a 3 day unlimited CTA transport you can't beat it. Bridgeport BNB is a very welcoming community of staff and owners. We were welcomed... More

A unique way to experience Chicago. Tucked away in Mayor Daley's former ward, the neighborhood is refreshingly relaxed and pleasant. The lovingly restored rooms and restaurant are like a nostalgic visit to the city's past. The breakfast is amazing. The staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. A wonderful way to get the true flavor of Chicago's South Side.

We stayed at the Bridgeport B&B for 3 nights. Though we had a pleasant stay, I do feel obliged to give a few critical remarks as a counter weight against the over-positive descriptions here. The suite that we stayed in was old. This had its charms, but certainly also its flip side. "Old" in this case meant really old, with... More

We had a one night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Arriving early morning, well before check-in time, we were made very welcome and offered breakfast, which was fabulous. We were able to leave our bags and return later in the early evening after spending the day in Chicago sightseeing. Our accommodation was very generous as we... More

Nice comfy suite, with two bedrooms and a kitchenette. Dave and the owner/chef Kevin were very friendly, and the breakfast was terrific. Enjoyed the Political theme with all the Chicago mayors from Bridgeport depicted on a chalk mural on the wall.

Even though our rooms were up three flights, it was well worth it. It was extremely comfortable and spacious. The price for us six was much less expensive than staying at a motel and MUCH more homey. The suite we stayed in was the Sox, with a Field of Dreams theme, very well decorated, and clean. The complimentary breakfast in... More
