I have not stayed at the Radisson Blue Aqua Hotel yet, however, I had a few questions regarding my booking and Ben was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and ensuring I would be comfortable with my stay. He was extremely patient and I have never dealt with such a courteous staff member.
Aqua Blu is a beautiful hotel successfully melding ultra-modern and industrial interior design in an iconic building close to everything downtown with great amenities and a good restaurant. It's starting to show small signs of wear and tear, like some signage a bit askew and a reading light on a bed's headboard that wouldn't stay on, but it remains my favorite hotel that I can afford to stay at.
Pros: location, location, location. You are within walking distance to most of the Magnificent Mile's attractions. Despite the cold weather, we were able to walk to a variety of restaurants, activities, and public transportation. There's also a beautiful park next to the hotel that does not feel that you are in the downtown area. Dog park, playground, and shopping. Restaurant on property was nice and had food for all ages. Staff does their absolute best but they are understaffed and unable to fit the needs of such a large property. Cons: Matresses are old and need replacement, no carpet in the bedroom- tile felt cold and dirty upon arrival, towels in room need replacement, furniture was stained, bulbs were out and were not replaced during our stay, valet services have been discontinued, vent covers were dusty, shower faucet had hard water crust- easy to clean this, indoor pool towels are small and dingy, hot tub had a dark and dirty foam- which indicates a need for cleaning. Overall feel of the hotel is that it needs general upkeep increased. …
When you visualize a great customer service experience, Omar would be the poster child for it! RADISSON BLU Chicago you made a phenomenal call hiring this one, he made my overall excitement for my upcoming stay soar. I had a minor issue booking but he resolved it and went above & beyond to ensure I was accommodated and treated respectfully. I had the pleasure of walking through the lobby/ restaurant area and it is beautifully designed with every modern amenity. Hats off to Asst. Mgr. Kenneth for doing his best to keep traveler’s accommodations on track while the entire system was down. I will update post checkout for a room/ stay review 😊. ~JB
After being stuck in the SWA travel nightmare I experienced one pleasant night. The Radisson Blu Aqua service was spectacular. The check in was welcomed with free drink coupons and later to a relaxing visit to the pristine pool, and finally a room overlooking the Park. Thank You!
Expensive hotel for what it offers. I was placed in a room for people with special needs where I couldn't even sit on the toilet because it was so high. There was never room cleaning. uncomfortable beds There was no breakfast available and the menu, in addition to lacking variety, was very expensive. Unfriendly front desk attendant Concierge too The hotel offered nothing but a bed to sleep on. Bad experience with Radisson chain. I will no longer be a member.
Stayed for 4 days with my family and really enjoyed it.The facilities were amazing and the breakfast was really good though pricy.I want to shout out to Hassan at concierge who helps customers selflessly. He is the back bone of Radisson blue aqua hotel.Hassan made our stay wonderful and I can’t stop praising him for all the help.Thank you Hassan for making our stay wonderful
Great location, beautiful building and so easy to navigate to and from if you're visiting Chicago, we were able to walk or use public transportation with no issues at all. The hotel itself is lovely, room a great size and tasteful decorated with modern decor - especially loved the sparkly floor tiles. Floor to ceiling windows meant we had a great view but didn't interfere with the heat in the room as it was very cozy. Lots of storage space - I love to empty my suitcase when I arrive and was able to do that no issues. Also breakfast is served till 11 - brilliant for us late risers. Every member of staff we encountered was great, friendly and professional My son & husband used the indoor pool and jacuzzi and loved it, the outside area of this hotel is better than any I've seen in a long time, BBQ areas, fire pits, plenty of seating, a common area, a running track. Will definitely be back in the summer. Very few issues, I would say these are all totally nit picky and didn't really interfere with our stay but.... We couldn't get Netflix to work despite being logged in, not sure what the issue was but it wasn't important enough for us to report to front desk. Also the connection on the TV was a little spotty so it kept freezing for a couple of seconds at a time, again NBD. Although there was plenty of storage in the room there isn't much in the bathroom. Also the bathroom door is a barnyard door type so you can hear everything in the bathroom and there's no lock., We're a close family so it wasn't a problem but if you're a little shy maybe it would be a problem. Overall I would recommend a stay here.…
Room is clean and comfortable bed, great location. The staff by the door ( Hassan) was very welcoming and helpful to guests. He was professional and kind. I enjoyed our chat with him about Morocco. Will be coming back with my family soon.
The hotel is at a great location and the room/hotel decor is beautiful! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Omar M. was especially helpful at check-in! Spending time here over the holidays was so much fun!
