I recently stayed at the Sable and Navy Pier for a business meeting. Richard at the front desk was very friendly and professional. A credit to the organization. Kudos to to Hilton for finding a guy like that. :)
Sable is a new boutique hotel by Hilton's Curio Collection. It is bright, clean with lake views from each room. It is built in three pods of 6 (?) levels each. The receptionists Lisel and Cara were outstanding throughout the stay. Intelligent alert, with a multitude of knowledge and charm. I can easily recommend that they be entered in any upward management programs. The Lirica restaurant just off the reception area also had great views and well as an interesting menu. It is not the most friendly hotel for a handicap person especially if they are located in the pod furthest from the reception area. It is a long walk. Maybe they need a golf cart to help handicapped individuals to the 3rd pod. The Offshore rooftop was breezy, relaxed and with great views. Service was excellent throughout the stay. I would definitely stay again. I look forward to the ongoing progress in the long interior corridor of the hotel and the whole Navy Pier. It sure has changed since i knew it when I grew up in Chicago in the 40's and early 50"s. A walk down memory lane for me. Way to go Hilton!…
Suzzy at the front desk was so cheerful, and made the entire stay memorable! I can tell she loved her job, as such enthusiasm during the check in process is difficult to find. The corner room is worth the extra money because one can lay in the bed, while looking directly at the skyline of Chicago.
Suzie at the front desk mad my mother feel like she was going on a luxurious vacation (though just one state away)... She was smiling, and so utterly thrilled to be checking us into a room. She spoke Thai with me, and my mother never heard it before! And, then the view was absolutely fabulous, and I have stayed here many times before.
First let’s start by saying the hotel is beautiful!! However this review is about Richard at the front desk he is truly amazing and so welcoming!! From the moment we arrived all the way to the end a true GEm!! We had a little hiccup at the hotel restaurant and Richard came right in and made everything right .. We want to say Thank you and hope to see him in a management role .. also as we was speaking with other guest they had nothing but great things to say about him as well .. now for the hotel restaurant Lirica our lunch experience was great and server she was amazing food delicious.. so then we decided to have dinner the next day and it was completely the opposite it was just my husband and myself no other tables lol we had a early dinner around 4:30 pm my husband ordered a steak and I ordered chicken however my plate came to the table first and the server stated my husbands would be right out ….!!! Well almost 8-10 mins as my food is sitting on the table getting cold because I didn’t want to start eating without my husband having his dinner the manager came over and said I’m sorry it’s still working and asked if he could take my plate and place it in a warmer ???!!!!! Like what !! Umm no thank you now let’s be clear this is a 59$ plate not KFC so by the time my husband’s plate came my food was cold and I was over it lol now let’s move on to the check our check was 107.00 $ and I state again just my husband and myself and the server whom we seen more on the phone hanging out then decided to automatically add 18% gratuity to our check lol and I have my own reason of why I think he did that however shame on them !! So just be aware and watch the check .. our room and views are amazing the hotel is clean and we will definitely return and recommend just not the RESTAURANT!!…
Great location great views. Nicole at the front desk was awesome, she went above and beyond on helping us with check in and greeting rooms close together. Breakfast was great food and service. The breakfast burrito and guacamole toast were the best. Rooms were clean and all staff was friendly and helpful.
Second time staying at this beautiful hotel . We were met on arrival by Richard. Richard was extremely professional and welcoming. The ease of valet parking and getting Ubers for a night on the town is perfect. The rooms views of lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline cannot be matched in the city. Will continue to use this as our #1 spot in Chicago
Fantastic view—you’re right on the water! Rooms very comfortable and quiet, large enough for us and our stuff without feeling cramped (as many modern rooms now feel), and tastefully appointed with new-feeling finishes in the bathroom and main room. Parking is easy and if you’re staying for more than a night valet is recommended as it’s only a little more than the nearby public garage and you have in/out privileges with valet. It’s a little bit of a walk to Millennium Park and the museums and aquarium but if the weather is nice it’s a very pleasant walk and if not, it’s a quick drive. The real highlight for us was Richard at the desk who greeted us with a huge smile and was cheerful and committed to giving us the best experience possible. We arrived pretty late at night but he was still a ray of sunshine. He walked me to the parking garage so I could see where to park and how to get into the hotel if we took the garage option. He got us signed up for the Hilton Honors program while we were parking and made the extra effort to find us at the elevators with our Hilton Honors number so we didn’t have to go back to the desk. (It’s not a far walk but we had our bags and it was very considerate of him). When we saw him again the next night he remembered us and was just as friendly and helpful. I also witnessed him helping a few other guests and he was extremely kind to them as well. We have traveled a lot lately and met a lot of hotel employees and Richard stands out as a true star of customer service, which, when you’re tired from traveling, makes a real difference. Would recommend the hotel and also hopefully you’ll get to meet Richard!…
Firstly, this place has amazing views as well as a beautiful facility all around! Even better, the employees ALL love their jobs. Richard at the front desk is the epitome of what a star employee should be. I would hire and promote him in a split second! However, he did ask me if it snowed in Massachusetts haha! Such a genuinely nice person and a spectacular personality! Lastly- Richard needs a raise!
This staycation experience has been amazing. The views from my room are spectacular and the room itself is so comfortable and inviting. My meal at Lirica in the hotel was outstanding. I had the pleasure of checking in with Richard the supervisor and MOD. He was the most kind and well dressed man I have met in a while. He clearly knows what he’s doing and informed me off benefits for my stay that I wouldn’t have known I had. Thanks Richard! And thanks Sable Hotel :)
