Second time staying here. First time was with my family and we booked a family room with a private bath and it was great. This time traveling alone I booked a single bed in the eight woman dorm room. It was just perfect for $20 a night! All the women were very respectful, quiet and you could have as much...

I book a private room and the room smell really bad. It's on November right now, but they didn't turn on the heat in the room. The blanket they provided was thin and dirty. The room has a poor sound insulation, so make sure you're wearing the earplugs before you go to bed.

Friendly stuff. Good location near the north park and zoo. 30 min to city-centre by train + 10 min walk drom hostel to train station. Many restaurants around. Exspensive room with no comfort. No table in the room, just 1 chair for 2.

There is not a bathroom or TV in the rooms. The bunk beds are not very comfortable. However the staff was friendly and if I was in a pinch I would probably stay there again. Food was good. Some visitors were creepy.

Very helpful, very clean, and offered safety to my son. Danny was awesome in helping the process. Wifi worked above average, and there was hot breakfast food and drink options everyday. I would definitely recommend.

Room is clean and reasonably spacious. Breakfast is included and very good. The wifi didn't work and bunk beds are very squeaky. About a 5-10 minute walk from Fullerton station. Lots of restaurants within walking distance

The hostel is in one of the most beautiful parts of the city and is maybe 5 mins walk to the Fullerton stop on the red line L. It's also about a 15 minute walk down to the lake as well. The hostel itself is in some sort of converted building which is really nice. The rooms are very basic...

Affordable Style in Chicago's Chic Lincoln Park Located in Chicago's affluent Lincoln Park, the Chicago Getaway Hostel is rewriting the house rules on hostel style. Policies once etched in stone are being cast aside in favor of fresher, friendlier approach. Membership fees are out and hotel-like amenities are in at this stately 1928 Georgian Revival landmark that, ironically, returns to its early 20th century roots as a boardinghouse for women. Today, all guests are welcome to enjoy free breakfast, free WiFi, free linens, free housekeeping, a 24/7 chef-caliber kitchen and a BYOB policy. Add nightly events like pub crawls, brewery tours and barbecues and it's easy to see why Chicago Getaway is fast becoming the city's favorite spot for affordable short-term and extended-stay accommodations. ... more   less
