For what I paid, it was decent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was adequate. I had everything I needed besides an iron. It put me in the mind of a college dorm, so next time I know to bring extra things.

I had a great time and met great people there! I've already recommended this hostel to my friends and family and would gladly return again if I'm ever in Chicago. So much is included in the price and it's located in a great area with tons to do.

The hostel is very clean and nice. The breakfast is good and the rooms are nice too. It is a little bit far from downtown but very close by train, so it's ok. It has different shops around. Highly recommended for solo travelers ;)

Our stay was short, but staff was very helpful and attentive. The room was clean and the place was cute. Wish we could have stayed long enough for breakfast, it looked/smelled delicious 😜 The location is perfect, walking distance to a number of bars, restaurants, and shops.

I stayed only 4 days but everything, the room, the showers and bathroom, the lobby and the dining room were always clean, and the staff is helping everyone who need it, and for the price you pay is excellent, very well located in a residential area very secure!

I had a wonderful stay! This is the third time I've stayed with them and it was a great stay. There was an issue with my food going missing (not their fault at all!) and they were incredible with holding that person accountable. Thank you for a wonderful and affordable place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood!

Stayed for 4 nights in January of 2017. The location is perfect with it being about a ten minutes walk to the L and very close to tons of bars and restaurants. Could not have asked for more out of a hostel.

Great experience. Everything went well and we had a blast. From food to the CTA, everything was within walking distance. Thanks for making this trip to Chicago worth it. Definitely worth another trip. :)

Affordable Style in Chicago's Chic Lincoln Park Located in Chicago's affluent Lincoln Park, the Chicago Getaway Hostel is rewriting the house rules on hostel style. Policies once etched in stone are being cast aside in favor of fresher, friendlier approach. Membership fees are out and hotel-like amenities are in at this stately 1928 Georgian Revival landmark that, ironically, returns to its early 20th century roots as a boardinghouse for women. Today, all guests are welcome to enjoy free breakfast, free WiFi, free linens, free housekeeping, a 24/7 chef-caliber kitchen and a BYOB policy. Add nightly events like pub crawls, brewery tours and barbecues and it's easy to see why Chicago Getaway is fast becoming the city's favorite spot for affordable short-term and extended-stay accommodations. ... more   less
