Have not been here since pre-pandemic and was hoping the hotel would re-open. Happy to see it back in operation again. I like the Loop neighborhoods more than the touristy Michigan avenue area (done that enough over the years) and the CTA makes it easy to get anywhere anyway. The CP is obviously super convenient arriving from the train station, and it's also a short walk from the CTA Blue line station if taking that from the airport. (If you like to cover a lot of ground while in Chicago, and take in many attractions, highly recommend the 24 hour CTA pass.) Rooms are typical for the chain, clean, and I think they've been updated and refreshed during the closure. Love the balcony view, on either side of the hotel. The first floor restaurant has been reopened for breakfast only, no idea if there are future plans for more hours of operation. Didn't try it as there are so many places to get whatever you want in the immediate neighborhood. The lobby is small and was looking kind of sad when I was walking through the neighborhood this past winter, it's not much more inviting today so this isn't a property where you'll want to hang out in the lobby area. However the rooms are nice to return to after a day in the city, which is what matters, and the elevators require a room key to operate, which I appreciate. All in all I consider this to be a great value and have already rebooked for a future stay.

Attending a Blackhawks game & needed a place that didn’t require much travel. Well we lucked out with the Crowne Plaza. Outside the Loop & crowded downtown area by just a 15 minute walk & already within a great walking neighborhood. We arrived by Metra & walked under 10 minutes to a great hotel. Classy & classic lobby attached to restaurant & bar area. Elevators were speedy & always there within a minute. Room was very comfortable with a great mattress & bedding. Bathroom was typical small but not crackerjack & the sliding door really saves space & adds a nice touch. There was a small balcony, but being January I used it to take a few outside pictures. Clean & quiet room, didn’t hear neighbors or people in the hallway ( could have just been lucky, but solid construction thru this place). Breakfast was a solid as I’ve had at a hotel for the price ( I included bfast in out room choice) & they actually have a waitstaff, not a typical buffet. Bus to the UC was a block away, under 10 minute ride & coming back you take the #19 outside the UC & get off at Washington & Halsted, just a block north of where you started from on your trip to the UC. Very happy with our choice & most likely will return.

I frequently stay at this hotel year round. Compared to other hotels in the area this is one of the best rates. The staff is exceptional including the Doorman, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry Service and the Bartenders. If available you can always get a room of your choice. The hotel for my stays have always been clean and all amenities work. The West Loop is a perfect location for many attractions. The United Center is in walking distance. In addition, so is the Chicagos' very own Dark Matter Coffee, you must have a cup or two. The hotel's bar is an absolute win. The bartenders have been on staff for years. They make awesome drinks and converstation. The food if good too. Breakfast is a buffet and then menu items for lunch and dinner. For stay in the room, the food is worth the price. Look forward to my next stay.

Was scheduled to stay at this property last week M-Th for business. My employer grounded all work related travel the Friday prior to my stay, due to COVID-19. In addition, I attended my grandmother's funeral the Saturday before. In the sudden cancelation of my work related travel, coupled with the death in my family, I forgot to cancel this reservation. I remembered on Thursday and called the hotel. Long story short, after talking to the front desk that Thursday, I was told nothing could be done. I asked to speak to upper management and was transfered to corporate. At corporate I was given a case number and told I would hear back within 48 hours. Sunday came and I still hadn't heard back, so I called the corporate line again, gave them my case number, and they relayed that this would have to be handled locally at the hotel by the assistant general manager...so, directing me back to the hotel. Corporate apologized for the lack of communication on this property's behalf and indicated that b/c they didn't respond within 48 hours that corporate would issue them a fine. On Monday, I called the hotel, spoke to a front desk employee who said, "let me talk to the assistant general manager to see what he says". After being on hold for less than a minute, the front desk employee relays that the assistant general manager can not do anything because they were holding the room for me. I expressed my confusion as to why if not a refund, a credit could be given, and wondered about the extension of empathy and grace given this unique situation. The front desk employee said, "I can transfer you to the assistant manager's phone, but I can't guarantee he will answer". I asked to be transfered, and of course, he did not pick up.
I realize this is a hard time for the tourism industry and in the same respect it is a hard time for us all. This property's lack of compassion and inability to extend grace to a loyal customer astounds me. How they treat people now will affect how they are viewed in the eyes of not only myself, but the company I work for, and as a result, lost my business and that of my company at large.

The rooms reminded me of in UK dint know where to put my bag or myself, it was that smalll for the price one pays.

I bought some Milk, Sodas and Juices to have the next day and then realised the room there was no refrigerator. I called and asked the front desk if I missed the spot for the refrigerator, she told me that the equipment is available only 12 floors and above, I thot it was a joke, paying $200 bucks a night and the basic amenity is missing.

On the same trip I stayed at 3 diff Crowne Plazas in different cities, there was a refrigerator everywhere, so I don't know what the deal with the Chicago Crowne Plaza was.

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed.

We have stayed here twice now when we needed a place to stay in Chicago close to downtown. Both times were very good experiences. The hotel is located close to where we need to be and the we love the rate for breakfast and parking, we cannot find a better deal. The rooms have been very good, the beds and bathrooms are very nice. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet is also excellent. Make sure to ask for a quiet room because traffic can be loud at night.

I traveled to the West Loop area of Chicago for a Covid Relief Project. At one point I had over 250 staff members being housed at the Crowne Plaza. When I say the staff goes above and beyond, it would be an understatement and disservice to the hospitality me and my staff have been shown.

With 250+ personalities on a daily basis and staff being worn out from the demand of the job, there were times where my staff may have been unprofessional and disturbed the peace of the lobby and the front desk on multiple occasions with different front desk personnel and every conflict resolution skill exemplified from the front desk has always been A1. They’ve empathized, over compensated, and have displayed top tier customer service EVERY single time! The staff is consistent, housekeeping is consistent, friendly and just all around excellent.

Facility is always clean, linen always fresh. Housekeepers greet you daily and are always friendly. Shouts out to Ms.Georgia, and Pablo. They’ll make sure your always taken care of even if it maybe out of their scope, they’re very resourceful. The whole cleaning staff is great

Each and every member of the front desk Silva, Maryann, Kelsie, Mr.Allyn, Deb, Vernell, and Brandon have each individually taken care of me through every need and request I needed. Always welcoming, laughing, and keeping the atmosphere light. Being away from home months at a time can weigh in on a person but this staff treats everyone like family so when you visit Crowne Plaza West Loop. Your Home!!!

We had a reservation for one night in August. I had requested an accessible room, online. When we arrived, we were not given the room we requested.
When we saw the room we were given, it was not accessible: the toilet was not high enough and the grab bar was behind the toilet, so it did my husband no good. The roll in shower had no seat installed, as it is supposed to. The bed was a major problem as it was too high. I called the desk to ask about a step stool but, no, they did not have one. The only chair in the room was a desk chair on wheels and the area by the bed was crowded due to a desk they had in place.
I have contacted “ guest services” and told them that I want to know about their access rooms. I have a case number but have not received a response from them. I wanted to reach the gen. Manager for this hotel, but apparently there is no way to do that. I wanted an explanation how they classified this room as accessible.
We were here one night. If we had to be there more than that I would have left and gone elsewhere! Very disappointed with this hotel.

Booked on the IHG app….Check-in took less than 30 seconds…and they even had my special request of extra pillows! Upon entering the room, the A/C was on blast! Felt amazing. Rooms and hotel in general super clean. Garage Parking is super convenient right Across from the Entrance of the hotel. It is kind of expensive at $52 a night. There is a Starbucks, Marianos, Walgreens, Whole Foods less then 5 minute walk. There is a dog park .2 miles away which is good being that right by the hotel there aren’t any designated places for the dog to go to the bathroom. The hotel staff were super friendly and very efficient.

I was expecting a full-service hotel. It looked nice online. The website says that in-room fridges are available, but they couldn't get me one. And they don't do in-room dining. I thought I was getting a nicer hotel. It's really a glorified Days Inn. Not even. And the beds are way too soft. I feel like I'm going to break my back.
