We have stayed at this Courtyard several times over the years and we keep returning for the same reasons-- excellent location, price, facilities, and staff. It's difficult to consistently find these same attributes at other hotels, and the Courtyard Magnificent Mile (just a block off Michigan Ave on Ontario Street) is now our permanent "home away from home" when visiting Chicago.

Prices are consistently among the lowest in the Magnificent Mile area and include a prime location, clean, quiet (for being in a city!), and safe rooms, and helpful staff.

Rooms are spotless and large and requests for room type/location have always been granted in our experience, including early check in on most occasions.

Front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. On this last stay, we encountered issues with our key cards that required 3 trips up and down from the 24th floor to the front desk to rectify. The desk staff was apologetic and helpful and even called someone from the engineering department to meet us upstairs to make sure it wasn't a weak battery on the lock. What could have been a frustrating damper on the stay was handled efficiently and with great customer service.

Yes, you may hear sounds of the city in this hotel, and parking is expensive everywhere in this area of Chicago (this hotel offers an adjacent, independently owned self-park garage for $56/24 hours), but it is a prime location in a large city and these are to be expected of just part of "being in Rome" and not the same as expectations on a highway hotel or in a small town. For those unfamiliar with the Courtyard branch of the Marriott family, they were intended as business class hotels, so the free breakfast found at other hotels is not an included amenity, but there is a Dunkin' and Burrito Beach directly across the street for breakfast, or you can venture further for a plethora of breakfast options.

Highly recommended hotel for visitors to the Magnificent Mile area of Chicago all year long!

We worked with Sarah Becker for our wedding block. At the last minute our original hotel was shut down and Sarah stepped in to make it possible for our guests to have a seamless transition to the Courtyard Marriott. Sarah and the entire staff were amazing to work with throughout the entire process. She worked to ensure our guests had the equivalent room they originally booked as well as the equivalent parking amount. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything we needed was taken care of - from the bridal prep room to the grooms get ready room to the table outside the bridal suite for breakfast and lunch to be put on - the entire weekend was amazing and our guests all raved about the service Sarah and Robert provided. Many thanks! 5 starts from us and we will always recommend this hotel going forward.

If you are looking for location in downtown with walking distance to food, and shopping this is the one! Location was perfect! My son had a college visit to DePaul which was an Uber away but we were basically on Northwestern’s campus. Right there at University if Chicago and not far from Loyola also. We walked the magnificent mile easily end to end hitting all the famous retailers. He is my youngest and is 17. Parking is attached to the hotel and is $50-60 per day in and out. Not sure if the fluctuates. We happened to set the visit up accidentally on All-Star/Valentine’s weekend.
The staff was amazing! Miguel was super helpful at the front desk and put us in a great room with a view of Michigan Ave. He was very pleasant and gave us great recommendations! Justin the concierge was so helpful! He also took time to give us great referrals and discounts which we used. Our favorites were “Dao” for Thai food and “West Egg” for breakfast/lunch. We also went to see an Improv show at Second City which is a must. Rated R but ages 10 and up with adults. Get tickets ahead online. Like days ahead. They sell out. This is where they discover famous comedians, many from SNL.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Had a regular 2 queen. Wish there were more bathroom counter space and better hair dryer but that isn’t really a complaint.
Great place to spend your stay in Chicago! We will be back.

We felt underwhelmed in our visit to Chicago during MDW. The hotel charges full prices but offers half services: while vaccinated customers were allowed to go unmasked, housekeeping was not provided unless explicitly requested at the guise of "safety" (and you have to say what exactly you want taken care of). Even a simple request to provide lotion was declined unless we went down to the lobby. We could hear the toilet flushing from a room next door anytime of the day and night. An early check in was offered for $20 even for a "Gold Elite" member while we had to haggle for the 2pm late checkout which is officially listed as a benefit. The stay felt cheap even though it cost regular fare. We were not impressed and will not be back.

Thank you for staying with us. We are truly sorry to hear that you did not have an enjoyable experience due to the precautions our hotel has in place. We understand our guest's frustrations and we truly are hoping to move back to a "normalcy" very soon. We hope that if you do decide to come back to Chicago, we get the chance to have you back and make it a much better experience for you.

This hotel has been our go to hotel for years! We stayed for one night on our way through and will never stay again. We got to our room and it was bare. It had two queen beds and only three bath towels (there were 4 in our party). No coffee pot, no cups, no information on city or hotel. We had to go downstairs to lobby for ice and then had no ice bucket to put it in so we had to use sink and someone had to hold the ice bag so the sink could be used. Also there was only a partial roll of toilet paper, no extra roll in room. Had to go to lobby to get it. The little shampoo bottle had been used by the previous guest and put back on sink with conditioner. No lotion or any other amenities that are normally there. The pay per view movies were discontinued as well as Netflix option. Very basic and minimal cable choices. Overall very unsatisfactory! Only good thing I can say was that the front desk clerks were friendly. I will not stay there again. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

Thank you for staying with us. We are so sorry about the pandemic and the steps hotels have had to take to keep our staff and guests safe. We have had to remove several items from the guest room because we can not guarantee their complete sanitation from Covid-19. We do have all these items available upon request and if a guest alerts us of any need we are able to provide within 15 minutes. We look forward to phasing in these amenities slowly as guidelines and parameters are provided. We do hope you will consider staying with us again.

The room was small with a nice corner view. The hotel refused to clean the room during our 4 night stay but brought towels. They did not change the sheets. The maid walked in while we were in bed on the last day which was a little frustrating given the fact they don’t clean the rooms while you are there and when you are leaving it’s a big rush to clean. I have been told this is their new permanent practice. The staff made errors with parking checking me in but made no concessions for their error when discovered. The garage is TIGHT.. In and out parking pass is available. There is no room service available. The food was okay at the gastro pub and the bartender was working very hard largely by herself. The pool was small and I was given the wrong pool hours. There is a 1 hour late check out complementary concession, however you will be charged $20 per hour for every additional hour needed.

You choose this hotel for the location to shopping and restaurants. Lots to do within walking distance. The hotel rooms are pretty basic. The shower was difficult to get water the correct temperature.

We were on floor 17. The room was very quiet and the curtains were great at blocking the light. The beds are very hard making it hard to sleep. The bathrooms were a good size though.

Checked it 1:30 early. There was a charge for early check-in. Ok. Paid it. The place is slow...prolly virus concerns and I thought that maybe they were trying to recoup some lost revenues.

It was only later I discovered they offer no in-room movies. The front desk told me they don’t have smart TVs “yet.”

Umm...for the price I paid for this room, “yet” to a smart TV is simply unacceptable. Get with it Marriott Corp! I’d think twice — or thrice about returning here!

Shown in photo: the un-smart TV.

The hotel was nice and in a great location for walking. We walked from the hotel to millennium park and all around.
The room was equipped with a queen bed and a pull out couch (perfect for 2 adults and 1 child) a very nice tv
Lots of counter space
Could use more storage (another set of drawers)
We were on the 24th (of 24 floors)
Rooms were not quite sound proof as we could hear our neighbours.
The staff was helpful with our questions at the front desk, and when we requested extra blankets they were there very quickly!
The pool was very very cold tho. That was a disappointment.
We would return.

We stayed for two nights in June 2021 and really liked the location. Right off the magnificent mile shops, but away from the hustle and bustle. Had a room on the 11th floor and definitely heard when fire trucks went through. Room was somewhat recently updated and pretty well designed.

Pro tip if you're parking. Use the iParkit app to reserve a space in the adjacent parking garage. There was a 20% discount for new users, so parking for two nights was $72 (with in and out privileges) instead of the $118 the hotel would charge for the same garage.
