Virgin Hotels Chicago is one of the most fun and thoughtful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There are many areas to relax in with a good vibe and high-end features. There’s a coffee shop with excellent espresso and tea drinks. Miss Ricky’s is the chicest diner, with the most amazing salmon eggs Benedict, or you can get Brekkie if you’d like a taste of the UK. The Commons Club has been closed during the pandemic but there is a sophisticated lounge and “funny library” on the 2nd floor for a mini getaway. The rooftop bar has indoor and outdoor seating, with a nice view over the city, and live music on weekends. There’s also a gym but we didn’t try it this trip. They’ve completely rethought the hotel room into a two-part chamber, making the space seem extra generous and adding comfort for couples not always on the same sleep schedule. There’s a robe, yoga mat and even umbrella as well as signature scented toiletries. The bed has an extra “seat” corner, the desk is flexible, and you can cast from your phone to the tv with ease (as well as other things). I slept like a rock, with my sleep app stats to prove it. (We heard the L train but it didn’t bother us at all, in fact it added to the city ambience for us.) With the Virgin app you can tip the staff electronically, super helpful. All within easy walking distance of the waterfront parks, Riverwalk, and so much more in the Loop. Right on the red line if you want to take the L further. Best of all, the staff are to a person friendly, efficient, and genuinely nice people. We hope to be back again soon! What a lovely place.

WOW!!! From the moment we walked into the Virgin Hotel Chicago we were impressed. Greeted by Brian, who was friendly, kind and helpful, he quickly checked us in, directed us to parking and gave a quick overview of the hotel . Due to Covid, valet parking is currently unavailable but self parking is right next got the hotel and is discounted for hotel guests. Also, bellhops are not available but luggage carts are a plenty.

When we entered our Chamber Suite we knew this was not going to be the typical boutique hotel experience. The living room had a comfortable sofa, extra large ottoman and large flat screen. A small table with chairs along with a fully stocked refrigerator, snack tray & coffee/tea survive were in the room as well. The bathroom was nice size, large shower and plenty of storage.

The highlight of the suite was the bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. It was like the best hug you’ve ever had. Plus the pillows And linens were equally amazing.

The only negative about the Virgin Hotel Chicago is the toilet paper. Good lord almighty there is sandpaper softer than what was hanging on the roll. I never thought I would need to exfoliate that area but thanks to Virgin, it happened.

We look forward to returning to Virgin Hotel and will pack our own TP.

My husband and I live in the Chicago burbs and pick a different hotel to stay in every couple of months. We typically pick big fancy places but we decided to go with a smaller boutique style of hotel this time. The Virgin Hotel was in a perfect location near all the fun in the city, it was spotlessly clean, the decor was sort of a 50's style mixed with eclectic art, the bed was comfortable, we heard absolutely no noise in the halls at night, and the front desk staff were extremely kind. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice smaller hotel. You can slightly hear the L rumbling as the hotel is by an L stop but that wouldn't deter me from staying here again. I was impressed! 5 stars all around!

We had a great stay at Virgin Hotels Chicago for seven nights. We were greeted with a welcome snack and personalized card, which was a really great touch. The front desk staff acknowledged us warmly every time we came and went from the hotel and asked if there was anything they could help us with. The room layout was really cool and we enjoyed having the sink, toilet, and dressing table/area all separated so that we could get ready most efficiently without one person having the bathroom at a time. We didn’t use the minibar but it was fully stocked with great options, while still having room for us to refrigerate some leftovers. The mattress was more firm than my liking (I like super plush) and the comforter was more thin than I typically like, but those things are only personal preference and would make others happy I’m sure. The location of the hotel was fantastic - you are walking distance to so many parts of the city without even having to get in an Uber or take public transportation. Highly recommend staying here!

I have had over ten stays at this amazing hotel and continue to be impressed with the staff. Jason Smith and Junito Harris welcomed me on my most recent visit and were exceptional in accommodating me for the two night stay. I have not been to Chicago since the shut-down. As a healthcare professional and responsible citizen, I am extremely cautious regarding COVID precautions. Jason & Junito were very helpful in guiding me where to arrange meals and what options were available to me. The housekeeping staff also is exceptional and I found the hotel to be following very stringent guidelines and safe practices in preventing COVID transmission. Thank you, Jason & Junito, for your knowledge, warmth and gold-standard setting customer service. Thank you Virgin Hotels for the great room and unique property. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Chicago...

For a stay from Friday to Saturday we decided to stay at the Virign Hotel in Chicago. The location of this Hotel is perfect - in the middle of Downtown, only 5 minutes per feet away from the Chicago River. The parking arangment / offer by the hotel allows you to park for 25 $ per 24 h, which is amazing.

Very friendly greeting by the staff (Top Job Andrew!) and we had the luck to book a Junior Suite. This two room arrangement with plenty of space, great couch, and amazing bathroom with a very spacy Shower was so perfect for the stay. Great City View from the windows - just remember: The neighbours can watch back - so better close the blinds.

Everything was very clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfy and good to sleep, even for my taste the mattress was a little to much on the soft side. Everywhere in the hotel are little design goodies to explore. From the Vespa Chair in our room, to the porcelain bulldogs in the corridors to the entry of the rooftop bar. Very well designed overall.

Only little negative point: while the AC in the public areas were amazing, did the AC in the Suite had some problems to chill down the late summer heat.

Obvious Tip: visit the rooftop bar and have a great cocktail with an amazing view into the hear of Chicago. And the staff will be amazing too.

Till now: the best hotel i found in downtown

The Virgin Hotel Chicago is in the middle of the bustling Downtown Chicago area, putting you in walking distance of many of the city's major museums and food haunts. The customer service is excellent and the shower alone was well worth the cost of the room. (Rainfall shower plus a handheld shower head plus a bench and amazing smelling body wash and shampoo and conditioner. The water pressure was next level.) However, the walls of the room are thin so ask in advance if it's possible not to be placed next door to anyone. The bed is comfy; the wifi is free and reliable; and you can order room service, change the room temp, and view your bill through the TV. Room service takes forever and is pretty pricey (my food arrived lukewarm), so I'd skip that and try one of the nearby restaurants. Parking is extremely expensive and there are no ins and outs, so if they are offering a deal for free valet, take advantage of it. Otherwise, you'll have to pay $25 a night for a lot around the corner with no ins and outs, or $75 to valet overnight.

I had a wonderful experience at Virgin hotels Chicago! I work in the travel industry so I’ve visited plenty of hotels and this is by far in my list of favorites in the USA. I stayed at the Penthouse for my wedding anniversary and I had a wonderful experience! Room was very clean and I felt safe with the measures they are taking with Covid-19. I interacted with front desk and some housekeeping staff and I was very happy to see them all wearing masks, super important in the middle of a pandemic! So why did I loved my stay? Let’s start... I had a wonderful amenity sent to my room since it was our anniversary, they sent us a bottle of champagne! They are pet friendly, although it was our anniversary, our furry friend goes with us everywhere so this was key for our stay! Although their restaurants aren’t open right now because Chicago City guidelines, they have in room dinning service and they send your food up to your room! The view the view the view.... great views! It’s super well located since it’s walking distance to the river, the bean, Millenium park, Michigan ave etc! The prices of the mini bar are amazing, not like your regular hotels that are overpriced! So if you feel like snacking in the middle of the night, they have a huge variety and it won’t hurt your wallet! Overall it was worth every penny and will definitely recommend this place! Thank you Virgin Hotels Chicago for the wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary!

This was our first time at a Virgin Hotel, and we loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful! It is in a great location. We parked our car (the garage is right next door and they validate your parking for $30 a night. It's normally $68). We walked everywhere from this location. Public transportation is a few minute walk and many restaurants and bars. We took this to a Cubs game and it was very easy and quick. The only negative (for those that care) the toilet paper is pretty rough. Housekeeping was lighter than usual, but the front desk provided extra coffee or whatever we needed.

Another solid visit to my favorite hotel in Chicago. Great location to both restaurants and public transportation. My room was missing a body lotion; I received two body washes instead. It's always my first choice when coming to Chicago.

I'm sure you can request a higher room, however, we had a higher room once and since it was closer to the nightclub at the top of the hotel, we could hear the bass from the music playing. I'm sure the staff would be very accommodating though if you have any issues.
