My wife and I spent 4 days visiting Chicago. We wanted to see as many different museums as possible. We picked the Congress Plaza and were very happy. It is about a 10 min walk to the art institute, a 20 min walk the other direction to the shedd aquarium, field museum and the alderman planetarium. The hotel was comfortable...

The Congress Plaza Hotel is located on Michigan Avenue and is perfect for y visiting Chicago. The are restaurants around the area and the metro is a couple blocks away. The hotel is charming but needs some updating. The hallways and rooms are not inviting with old carpets and seems to be falling apart. Our bathroom vents is not working...

Our room was located in the fire exit (room 1134), with mean a room no designed to accommodate people. Room too small with only one bed, and not extra appliance (not refrigerator and microwave). In addition, the bathroom was terrible designed, the showerhead is located in the opposite location which means is located in the entry part of the bathtub....

This is an old hotel, but they've done a pretty good job keeping the classic style with modern amenities. The staff is generally friendly, but not as great as more expensive hotels. You get what you pay for, so the doors are old, some have spaces at the top and bottom, the rooms feel old, but nothing feels out of...

Location was walking distance from public transportation & the Mag Mile. Room was clean. The side they put us on was not the greatest but it will do. Just a place to sleep. My friend had booked this online & emailed the confirmation, when I arrived I to check in I was forced to pay the "balance" which was an...

My daughter recently stayed at the hotel and left a GPS in the hotel safe in the room. She realized it with a few minutes after checking out but the hotel management wouldn't let her go back to the room to retrieve it. Instead they sent a staff person up to the room where the maids were cleaning who claimed...

We decided on starting a new tradition by being in a new city for Easter. Chicago was our lucky winner and we stayed at the Congress. The old school vibe is my favorite. The kids got a kick out of the history that came with the place and our view was the Buckingham fountain and Lake Michigan. Beautiful back drop...

Our family loved The Congress! Being so close to Buckingham Fountain, the Lake, Maggie Daley Park, Chicago Institute of Art, the El (& Dunkin Donuts) was the highlight of our stay. The Congress is quiet (eerily so at times) butt our room was not great on climate control. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was excellently clean! We...
