Since I am still at the hotel, it's fair to report on my current experience, and perhaps many past times I've enjoyed the InterContinental Chicago. I stay here on business, and sometimes extend for personal time and visits with friends. Love the area for shopping and sight-seeing. Buses to McCormick Place stop here so that makes it doubly convenient. A...

You can't ask for a nicer check in experience. Paula made very pleasant conversation and was disappointed I was only staying for one night. Highlighting next time I need to spend some time seeing the city and I agreed. She got me checked in quickly and suggested some great steakhouses in the area. The room itself was very nice. All...

Dear Marc K, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. It is nice to hear Paula took great care of you during check-in and that you appreciated room features such as conveniently placed electrical outlets and comfortable bedding. This hotel has 2 towers. The tower I stayed in was the newer one. The room I stayed in was the smallest one but was still great because it was just very nice. There is a bridge that connects the 2 towers near the fitness center. One of the best pools I have swam in. Breakfast and MJ's steakhouse were...

I am a "Spire Ambassador" with IHG which means I have the highest publically available status with this chain. I have stayed in this hotel several times. I booked a room with them with the "Best Flexible Rate." However, when I canceled, they charged me for 3 nights of the room. In the large print it says "Cancel with 0-days...

Very well located and equiped hotel rooms. Being so close to nice stores could be dangerous if traveling with wife. Room just a bit small for the price paid but need to consider it was a really high demand week. Overall great experience.

First time visit to The Windy City so was going in a little blind on hotel location selection, obviously ended up booking the Intercontinental which was the correct choice. It's located right in the heart of shopping and cafe precinct, quick walk to Navy Pier and Cloud Gate etc. Room was comfy and clean and staff were quite inviting and...

There are certainly fancier hotels than the Intercontinental in Chicago. During a business trip, I stayed in a suite that had two rooms and two full baths (that would have been great for a family trying to stay together!). Since I was out of the room working from 6 am to about 8 pm each day, I can't speak to...

Smack dab in the middle of most everything of interest in Chicago. Easy walk to dining and entertainment, and close to lake for those early morning runs. It would be nicer if the rooms had a comfortable chair in which to read.

This hotel is conveniently located to food, shopping and attractions. We experienced good service from the staff. The room felt a touch on the small side, but not unexpectedly so. The fitness center and pool are great.

First time in Chicago, but travelled to many countries. I've enjoyed this hotel. This property has a very well trained staff. Customer service is very hard task yet they manage it effortlessly . Wheither it was the Clive, the Doorman orchestrating the control over the chaos of the multiple coming and goings, all with a smile, Paula at the Front...

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.

“The room sizes vary depending on where the traveler is placed each time. I've had huge, modern, high floor rooms and smaller, more traditional spaces on lower floors. To me, they are all enjoyable. Service is always agreeable and professional. I have no complaints. Thanks for asking my opinion. ”
