Tiara escorted us through this historic property whose owners include Al Capone and Hugh Hefner.
The Cristal Ballroom is exquisite and has been restored to its original splendor.
The secret stairway from the top floor penthouse was a hoot!
Tiara was absolutely terrific!
My colleagues and I participated in the free hotel tour by the concierge. It’s a beautiful building; Tiara was very friendly and knowledgable. 5*s for the guide! We just wanted to give our thanks to her. It’s shrouded in history and stories.
Noisy. Doors slamming constantly.
Staff pleasant apart from a receptionist called Edward. While paying my bill he refused to take my coinage. Notes or card was all that he would accept. He was quite rude and adamant that this was the hotel policy....More
I would give this hotel a 5 star for location - awesome, right in the middle of everything, we were able to walk almost anywhere. Also bed was comfortable, enough space in the room for the two of us, linens ok.

AHHH I stayed here on the 40th bday and it was perfect. Enjoyed being able to walk to Louis Vuitton (right around the corner) Smaller rooms and elevator was slower than most but I have a nice nights sleep and enjoyed being so close to...More
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as
the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Depending on the route, it may take anywhere between 15 and 25 minutes during regular traffic. As others have already noted, there is to be extra expected transit time during game days. The Forest Park stop on the Blue Line of the "El" Train System can take you to less than a half mile of the United Center.
