Who knew there was a Chestnut Mountain in IL? Now it is not a Rocky Mountain type skiing experience, but from the looks of the slopes, it's challenging for a Midwesterner. The resort is very well maintained, the grounds are immaculate. Lots to do for couples or a family, even in the non-skiing season. The staff is wonderful!

Great views but the hotel is away from the main city with a very windy road connecting the two. Its a decent hotel if you want to stay there and relax with no outside connectivity (including sketchy cell phone coverage) but getting anything done is going to be challenging. We went on Labor day weekend and the place was packed...

We planned a last minute Labor Day getaway. The room was large and clean. If you are looking for a high-end resort, this isn't it. It could use updating, especially the shower, but was comfortable. We loved the views and outdoor activities including the Alpine slide and Soaring Eagle zip line. Mary at the check in desk was friendly and...

Beautiful views, nice people, accommodations are good. The slide and zip line was fun...beautiful area! It Would great to have Water available in the lobby or outside somewhere to refill water bottles as it gets hot out there! We'll return!

Rooms small &outdated. The free WiFi is difficult to connect to and does not automatically reconnect when you leave and come back. Wait staff awful and items on menu not available. Not resort quality.

This hotel is going to get a great review for two reasons. The view is OUTSTANDING. It's absolutely breathtaking. Also, we forgot that when we booked the hotel on their website we jokingly asked in the special requests to have a framed picture of Emilio Estevez on our bedside table. They followed through and the second we walked into the...

We stopped here on our way to Galena and decided to try the slide and the Segway tour. The slide was ok. It was $8 for one ride down the slide and back up via the sky lift. We surprisingly really enjoyed the Segway tour with Destiny. My husband and I had a blast on them and would have gladly...

Our friends kids were having a destination wedding. Since we hadn't been to Galena,IL. We thought this would be a good time to explore the area. We were greeted by a most helpful staff. We found our room to be very spacious and we really liked having a sink and mirror outside of the bathroom, the lighting could be a...

I felt like I was disturbing them each time I approached the front counter. No smiles anywhere and were of little assistance. My room wasn't ready when I arrived at 1:45 and I was told the hotel was fully booked. Check in was at 3pm and I had to wait. Ok, but the parking lot was empty, where was everyone?...

The Staff is ok. Helpful and pleasant but not on the spot at the front desk. Always had to wait for them. Rooms a little run down but clean. Some nice trails to walk. Would not stay again as too far from town. While the rate was good, when combined with cab fare is not a bargain.
