This is a 2 star hotel. Clean modern rooms, tidy, nice helpful staff and food ok. Nothing to complain about. Lovely location, not too commercialised, with many good places to eat. I would definitely return.

Port de Sóller is a beautiful corner of Mallorca, but we made a huge mistake staying at the Miramar. The hotel is tatty and tired and no cheaper than most of the other hotels which are a lot nicer, trust me I went in most of them, as I intend to go back to this amazing place. We had some nasty experiences at the Miramar, however, the night porter and his wife who works during the day are lovely people and if it hadn’t been for their understanding and attention to detail we would have most definitely left the hotel. I hope the owners of this hotel appreciate them as they work very hard to keep the guests happy. Unfortunately not all the staff are the same. We had booked for half board, however the evening meal was dismal. No choice, mostly cold and swimming in oil 🤮 the first night we even had to lay our own table as the young man who was on that night was more interested in laying a table for the owners that eat there most nights, and didn’t eat the #&@% that was dished up to us. As the week went on it was very clear that the owners meal took preference to the guests who are left to fend for themselves, so after night 2 we eat else where, Costing us more money. The slats on the beds are missing so the mattresses fall through the gaps making it a very uncomfortable stay, this was reported but nothing was done. The air conditioning unit is above the door of the room and not powerful enough to cool the rest of it so pretty useless. Oh and the most ridiculous thing is that they provide a kettle and 2 cups and saucers on a tray, but if you ask at reception for tea, coffee or milk they tell you to buy a cup of tea at the bar 🤷🏼‍♀️. We would have been prepared to buy our own but with no fridge we could not keep the milk fresh. On the up side we had 3 hairdryers, one on the wall that didn’t work and two in the draws under the sink, the one with the string handle 😳 classy. Summary - Port de Sóller is the most beautiful, tranquil, calm slice of Mallorca with amazing views and the sea is so calm and clear with an amazing sandy beach, and we have every intention of returning, just not to the Miramar.

Think Fizzy Pop and Culture Club, add in a kids disco and you are transported back to the 80's in a good way. The Miramar is a delightful look through a nostalgic kaleidoscope where the trappings of corporate behemoths are nowhere to be seen. Attentive staff add to its charm, with a particular note to Helen who was such a delightful host. A plentiful breakfast is a snip at 5 Euro. Rooms are ulitarian with the addition of a disobedient aircon which is more than happy to sporadically burst into song at the most preposterous of times. Now where are my roller skates?

Advantages this hotel has over competing establishments include features such as complementary morning calls in the form of cleaning staff banging around in the hallway at 8am, letting themselves into your room and then acting very perplexed as to why you are not appreciative of their efforts. Despite the tenacious nature of the aforementioned cleaning staff the room could hardly be described as such; dust on the floor, bed and pubic hairs in the shower (I will let you imagine the rest). The breakfast is also another feature with a unique twist, despite it being included in our original booking the dogged managers still attempted to charge us again on more than one occasion. Notwithstanding this it was so awful that you won’t be able to help but lose weight and to be frank is best avoided altogether. Furthermore the airport shuttle which they boast is indistinguishable in price from just picking up a taxi when you get there and their onsite parking would probably double the cost of your car rental. Needless to say we will not be returning.
