This was our first trip to the Maldives and we had a really wonderful time. The islands are beautiful, beaches immaculate and lovely for walking, beautiful soft sand and felt like no-one else was there even though the resort was pretty full. The room was lovely, gorgeous pool and wonderful bathroom, the best I have ever seen. Delicious food, lots...

We have just returned from eight nights and can not write a more positive review if I tried. The setting is incredible, the service and staff levels are so high and we cannot wait to return. Our room was a beach studio and had an ENORMOUS outdoor bathroom and our bedroom perfectly positioned for beach views. The food is divine,...

We stayed in Niyama for one week and already on the second day we knew, that it would go by so fast. We enjoyed a lot of different watersports activities like visiting a sand bank with a jet ski, snorkeling in coral garden and parasailing. Every single one of these activities was more than perfect and worth every penny. We'll...

What an amazing place, start to finish. The overwater deluxe room was beyond expectations and provided the Maldives experience we were looking for. The highlights of our trip were snorkeling outside of our room about 100 meters away where the coral is heavy, there are countless school of tropical fish, coral, and all kids of lovely sea creatures. We ran...

This was our second visit to Niyama and it was every bit as good as the first (in 2015). We stayed for 8 nights and we came back primarily because of our thakuru, Milo Hashim, who is hands down the best thakuru in the whole of Maldives! Any resort will be lucky to have him. He goes way above and...

Service throughout the resort and unit 50 were exceptional. Our Thakuru Milo was out of this world we think he had GPS us... Special to thanks to the staff at Blu - Ali, Shippa, Sanah, and Joe for making our meals special! Even though the islands were designated "Chill and Play" during mealtime it was very hard to find a...

Where do I start? From the moment we got off the plane we were treated so well. We travelled with our 6 year old and 1 year old and it made the end of a long journey enjoyable! We had no stops on the seaplane and went directly to the island which took about 35 minutes. We stayed in one...

Niyama is a place we'd return to… Context: I go to the Maldives quite a lot. Always in February time, for a bit of escape from the UK winter and a week or so of entirely switching off from work, and being away from the guilt on larger islands say in the Caribbean that there's something very close nearby that...

The people very friendly, Hemayet make me and my family very happy. Also the person who distribute and collect the coconuts was an excellent guy. Avoid the beach in front of the family rooms, there are new coral growing and water is very shallow. Swimming there may destroy the corals and you can get hurt.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
NIYAMA, which opened in March 2012, is Per AQUUM's latest addition to an award-winning resort portfolio. This hotly anticipated resort is turning the Maldives upside down with a plethora of options to get guests active and incite a sense of discovery, stimulation and fun. This exciting new concept is, of course, paired with the natural beauty and tranquility of the Maldives so those who just want to sit back, chill out and relax can do so in style. Try the games simulators, enjoy yoga, tai chi or zumba, kick up your heals at Subsix the world's first underwater music club, or simply relax and watch the sunset from Fahrenheit rooftop bar. Located in the South Western Atoll of Dhaalu, NIYAMA is a 40 minute seaplane flight from the Maldives capital Male'. Innovative dining options include Tribal, which brings a new unique concept to the Maldives. Designed like a modern day campsite, guests sit in specially designed pods surrounded by live cooking stations with dishes influenced by tribes from South America, Africa and Asia. Cooking methods include hot rock grills, asados and open flames. Per AQUUM's Deli-In presents an a la carte menu of gourmet deli items such as ice creams, cheeses, olives, cold cuts and wines all pre-stocked in each Studio and Pavilion. The in-room popcorn makers with complimentary corn kernels add that additional element of fun. Fahrenheit is perfect for refreshing drinks throughout the day transforming into one of island hot spots at night with spectacular ocean and sunset views. ... more   less
