We stayed 5 nights at Matikuri and it felt like the world slowed down. Benji & Jilly welcomed us like family which made the experience even more magical. We ate great food, made new friends, snorkelled the Matikuri reef as well as many memorable trips with Benji and Charles on the boat. We were lucky enough to stay when Benjis...

Great food (great fish), very welcoming and hospitable. They found me waiting at Seghe airport and offered me a place to stay and I loved the place. There is an awesome reef for snorkelling around the point with a junction between currents where all sorts of fish meet, and there are lots of docile reef sharks. My bungalow over the...

We stayed 6 nights at Matikuri Lodge. It is a great base with wonderful hosts (Benjamin and Jilly). Benjamin collected us at the Seghe airstrip and delivered to another guest lodge at the end of our stay. The main lodge area is a spacious area overlooking the lagoon with comfy chairs and normally a cooling breeze. We had some very...

The oldest tourist lodge in the lagoon does not feel old. Bungalows provide comfortable netted accommodation with beautiful water views and a cooling breeze, particularly at night. The surrounding corals are well worth a snorkel. Provides great access to the spectacular Hele Islands - known surfing destination, amazing snorkelling and diving, wreck included. Kayaks available for paddling to nearby islands...

Matikuri is this little piece of heaven far far away from the stress of everyday life. Once you set foot in Matikuri, you’ll be welcomed by Benjamin who will lay down the rules of the house for you : Make yourself at home! And it is so easy to do, to simply ease into island life. Grab a kayak to...

Benjamin and his wife Jill are very experienced. The bush material bungalow was basic, but fine, with agreat sunrise view from the teraace. Shared toilets/shower also. The meals were great, and the snorkeling (gear free of chage)and manta ray excursions excellent. The free of charge kayaks are in top condition.

Ok so I was hesitant to stay at Matikuri after reading some of the reviews but I am so happy my friends and I decided to go for it. Our stay began with Ben picking us up in his canoe from the airport and we had an amazing ride into the sunset to the lodge. This is an eco lodge...

Where to start.... We flew from Honiara to be met at the grass strip airport in Seghe by the very friendly owner, Benjamin. A short boat ride and we arrived at Matakuri. Benjamin made us feel very much at home as he showed us around the flowered trails that led to our bungalow, the toilet room and the bathhouse. The...

Benjamin, Jilly and his family have created a perfect environment for a wonderful stay in this part of Western Province. The meals were outstanding, the accommodation was perfect, and the service was second-to-none. We were looked after very comfortably and given the opportunity to explore village and lagoon life (both on and under water) in a very personal and personable...

Makituri was fantastic, good comfortable accommodation, great food and very relaxing. Its not too remote, but feels like you are and you don't miss the mobile phones, computers, tv, etc. There's no power other than solar charged batteries which provide night lights and charging for mobile devices, so bring a torch. Water is plentiful tank water and perfect for drinking,...
