I have known of this pub for some years and in the dark last night tried to find it. I could see that in the listings there was also a pub called the Plough in the same village. Having driven past the Plough several times and searched everywhere in the village, we chose to go to the Plough...and found it...

The pub is now called the Plough (and has been known as that for some time!) Old reviews suggested this was a poor place to eat but on a recent visit our party had an excellent lunch from the 2 course fixed price menu. The tables were mostly taken with parties of what must have been local people so it...

I used to use this pub when it was a pub (back in the mid sixties and early seventies) Now it is yet another tired pub tricked out to cater for the so-called gastro crowd.. Visited early this month (5th August) after an evening walk with my walking group. On arrival some confusion as the pub staff had double booked...

What used to be called The Trout Inn is now The Plough so please do not take on board what was reviewed prior to July 2014! This is an excellent B&B/Pub/Restaurant I stayed here with two work colleagues and the service/food was incredible. Very friendly and happy staff, food excellent, rooms very clean and comfortable, lovely decor. Will definitely return...

We decided to visit this pub as they have recently changed management and gone through a massive change in decoration. What we found was excellent service, wonderful atmosphere and most importantly food and wine were superior. We will be back.

Firstly trip advisor this pub is now called the plough and has had a dramatic make over into what can only be described as a gastronomic haven. Service was friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was excellent, especially the pork belly lightly crisped with bread crumbs. I have never had capers with pork belly but the acidity cut through the...

We stopped in for a drink at this nice looking pub. Three staff on board but only one serving. Glass for my beer was stacked for washing and got rinsed out with a bit of cold water before getting a cloudy pint of beer being pulled into it. Did not drink the beer and as no management at hand we...

Not a bad price for Winchester and the staff were friendly and helpful, sadly the good things stopped there. The room was basic and dated and could do with a thorough redecorate. Windows covered with cobwebs and there was a general impression of grubbiness about the place. I'm not sure if the electrics in the room met modern safety standards,...
