Searched for a pub that allowed dogs! Could not book a table so we arrived early. The lunch menu was fab and all five of us ate all of our mains and puddings, they were delicious. Very relaxed and borrowed a pack of cards, which we played whilst waiting a short while for the food. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Cuckoo Brow Inn for two nights, the food was ok on the first night and then on the second I ordered lamb kidneys to start, they came out raw at best. three of four people at our table ordered the same and they were presented the same, so we sent them back - only for the...

Stayed here on a 2 night break on recommendations from 2 friends and loved it. Not the classiest of places but the kind where you feel at home straight away. Bedrooms are spacious with the comfiest bed I have slept in for a long time. Ours had a fabulous view over the fells and being on a back road it...

This Far Sawrey Inn looks as in if belongs in Beatrix Potter country. Small wonder, because it IS in Beatrix Potter country, just down the road from Near Sawrey and Beatrix Potter’s home at Hilltop, and not far at all from Hawkshead where her museum is located. It has been an inn at least since the late 1700’s if I...

Stayed for two nights in May. A proper dog friendly inn that doesn't charge you over the odds for bringing your dog or severely restrict where you can sit inside with your dog. On the basis of that alone I'd return. Lots of places say they are dog friendly when in fact they are not, this is the exception. For...

Thank you for taking time to review your stay, we certainly want to hear all comments, both positive and negative. Your comments on breakfast have been discussed, the brioche is usually served with 2 slices on bacon, this was a mistake and we do apologise. Housekeeping have also been shown your comments, as this is unacceptable. We take great pride...

We stayed at the cuckoo brow for a weekend at the end of April. It was our first visit to the place but we could not have been more delighted with our stay. The setting is stunning and the place itself has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and friendly and always happy to help. The food was...

Muddy boots, wet dogs and children welcome. The Cuckoo Brow is a busy, friendly Inn offering great food, real ale, log fires and deep baths with lots of hot water. Even though the Inn is busy the rooms are quiet with large comfortable beds. Staff are super friendly, efficient and out to deliver exceptional service. Located just above Windermere on...

Really stunning quiet location. Room was excellent (number 21) on the ground floor recently refurbished with a great shower! Very quiet, the road carrying very little traffic, we were there during the week in May, so will be busier in the summer. Food was excellent and staff really friendly, really good breakfast hot or cold with good choice to suit...

Thank you for taking the time review and sharing your thoughts on your stay with TripAdvisor. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of the quiet village of the Far Sawrey, just a 3/4 mile pleasant stroll to the National Trust home of Beatrix Potter, our Lake District Inn welcomes you to come and sit by the fire. Situated at the top of the hill in between Lake Windermere and Hawkshead Village, surrounded by beautiful scenery, popular walking and cycling trails and of course the countryside which Beatrix Potter drew her inspiration from. We are a classic, yet contemporary Lake District Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been renovated and lovingly restored to its former glory. We now have 14 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, which are a selection of superking size, family and twin rooms, all rooms have power showers, 32" flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities and everything you would want from Lake District B&B. We are passionate about the Lakes, and strive to produce a local, sourcing as much produce as possible from the from the bountiful area in which we sit, be that the Real Ales, the game for our Huntsmans Hot Pot or the sausages for our Cumbrian Breakfast which of course no true Lake District B&B would be without. We would like to welcome all to our little Inn, which offers dog friendly accommodation for those wishing to bring their dog away for a holiday in the Lakes. Whether you are popping in for a pint or coming to stay in the Lake District Bed & Breakfast, our doors are open and our fires are on. Food is served all day, 12 noon to 3pm, 5pm until 9pm. ... more   less
