What a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable There is great variety on the menu and the portion sizes are ample. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is not far from the town centre and a short walk takes you to the bus stop.

A beautiful hotel set on the outskirts of Dumfries. We stayed in the Queensberry suite for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was great and the service and food supplied was lovely. We had breakfast and evening meals each day and it was served by very friendly and efficient staff. Dumfries and Galloway has many interesting places to visit and staying here was a good base to do the many things we wanted to visit.

The food is SOOOOO delicious. The bar has a good choice of malt whisky. Staff are friendly and attentive. Modern and spacious bathroom with a good shower, loads of hot water. The number 10 bus outside the Robert Burns Statue in Dumfries centre gets you here - walk for about 10 minutes along Irongray Road.

My husband and I were recently staying at Newbridge Country Park and staff there recommended the hotel for something to eat. We took a walk up and (it's only a short walk from Newbridge). The hotel is set in beautiful and tranquil surroundings. We had a very warm welcome from the lady who was working that night (I didn't get her name unfortunately). I opted for the Steak Pie and my husband got the Roast Beef Dinner. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Great service and great food! I would highly recommend to try if you are in the area.

We had a lovely meal here with excellent service that couldn't be faulted. The Beef Stroganoff was particularly nice. We didn't actually stay in the hotel so can't comment on that, but our total bill of under £60 for 2 3 course meals with drinks was exceptional value for the quality. Highly recommended

Stayed for three nights in a suite on the way up north for Hogmanay. Arrived on the 27th of December finding that the hotel was very quiet but full menu available in the restaurant. Food was first class and the management and staff were all very helpful, would certainly recommend.

Visited for a work trip, we booked in for dinner which was initially for 3 people but then we asked for 7 people with at least 1 hours notice. As I got to the dining room four of my colleagues were sat on a table for four. We asked about moving a table closer to which the waitress shouted “noooo” in front of all the other diners which was embarrassing and awkward. I was told to sit on a table across the room from my colleagues. The waitress then told my colleagues on the table of four that it was bad enough that we’ve added people on, so she wasn’t moving a table. The waitress then stood over my shoulder asking me what I wanted to order with out giving me 30 seconds to look at the menu. Felt like leaving but stayed there and wish I hadn’t as I had the worst chicken curry I have ever had. Despite the food being bad if the service was better we would have stayed for a quite few drinks but after the hostility we refused we all just had a soft drink with our dinner and left.

We stayed in the Woodland House hotel 2 weeks prior to this visit, we were doing a tour of Scotland & had booked into a hotel that was dirty & we felt unsafe, we called Woodland house who very kindly found us a room & welcomed us back. This hotel is spotlessly clean & the food is amazing. All the staff are very friendly. We really have found a gem of a hotel here & will definitely be returning & would recommend friends & family to stay here. Thank you so much for welcoming us back at such short notice.

We haven't stayed at the hotel, however will certainly choose it next time we are in the area. We were staying at another hotel in the area and the meals/breakfast were so poor we checked out early and I telephones Woodland at 7:30am and asked if we could have breakfast as a non resident. A warm welcome ensued and a cracking breakfast was had. The hotel looked clean and today, food was good and from the chatter in the breakfast room people seemed very happy with their stay
