The hotel car park is right next to an unfinished, seemingly abandoned, half-built steel and concrete structure. This is also what many of the rooms look out onto. Not very welcoming for guests. Our room (suite) was large, in fact it was beautiful, with a lovely bathroom - no complaints there. When we went down for our evening meal, we... More

Business trip for one night. Helpful staff, clean well appointed rooms, food & service were good, reasonable price so value for money. Initial impression was poor, building site next main building, inside needs investment, I would stay again. Wifi is poor upstairs.

I stayed at this hotel as I was working in the area. This is a great hotel to stay at if you're passing through the area, close to all attractions and main roads, and quietly situated outside of Dumfries. Overall the room was clean and the bed very comfy. The bathroom was modern and well accommodated, with a nice range... More

Down to visit family and friends, this is my second visit in about a year. Same impressive room and en suite. Same excellent breakfast and lovely "bar supper". Added bonus of a morning paper this time..!! Owners/staff were on the whole very helpful and friendly. Sadly, still no improvement on "extension" beside hotel, but still a very pleasant stay.

If you're looking for a no frills, lovely bar supper, this is the place. It's not the fanciest place but the staff are welcoming and there is something on the menu for everyone, steak, fish, pasta. Food is well cooked and presented. Definitely recommended.
