I stayed here for one night, and I thoroughly enjoyed! The place is just so, so unique. I really enjoyed being "un-plugged" for the night....no t.v. or wifi.New Harmony is a charming little town and this is an amazing place to stay!!

My family lived in New Harmony from 2002-2008. We still love this quiet beautiful interesting town on the Wabash. When we returned in 2015 there was no question about where to stay. The Old Rooming House! Totally affordable, personal experience. Jim, the owner is ready to engage in conversation - or not- it's your call. You will wake up and...

I loved it! Very unique and laid back, not fancy but very inviting, wonderful host Jim made sure we had everything we needed and even called to find us a nice place to have breakfast to meet all of our dining needs and wants. Thank you Jim!

I found this lodging option on a general New Harmony, IN website. It mentioned that staying here was a step-back-in-time and that it was a nostalgic feel of the good-old-days. It sure was! As other reviewers have stated, this place isn't for everyone. If you're someone who needs a fitness center, Wi-Fi and other modern amenities, this place certainly isn't...

My husband and I just returned from spending our anniversary in New Harmony, IN and staying at the quirky Old Rooming House. As other reviewers have said, it is not for everyone. If you are looking for cookie cutter chain hotel rooms, TV, phone and wi-fi this would not be the place for you. If you are looking for an...

I'm smiling as I write this review, because it's hard to describe this place. Stayed with my brother one night in Room 4. Feels like you're in an old attic room at your grandma's home, and she's too old to get up the stairs to sweep away the cobwebs, but left some toys for you to play with that she...

We've stayed several times at the Old Rooming House. This time we took my mom and sisters and spent the night for the Christmas festival. When we drove by the house to go around back and park, I said casually, "There's our place," and my sister thought I was kidding! My mom saw her room and burst out laughing. It's...

Not wanting to stay in a traditional hotel whilst visiting New Harmony, a girlfriend and I opted to stay at The Old Rooming Inn. When speaking to the owner by telephone, he had no pretensions about the place and he was right. He seemed a delightful fellow, never saw him but spoke a couple or so times. Payment is on...
