Perfect stay from the room to the food ,the service, the turndown, the game drive with our knowledgeable ranger and everything else. Even when we were leaving they put cold water bottles in our car for our travel. Just amazing
From the moment we arrived, we were treated as if we were special guests. We have no doubt after having watched the team interact with guests over the 2 nights that we stayed, that they treat all guests the same. Everyone was very friendly and happy. The customer service and facilities exceeded our expectations. Our cacoon was beautiful, and the views from the pool and restaurant area were stunning. The coast is wild and ruggered and the Yala National Park is a must visit with one of the lodges guides. Keith our guide was exceptional. Sundowner cocktails were also lovely.
We just returned from a three-night stay at Wild Coast Tented Lodge, and I can't speechless and still reminiscing my moments. Sri Lanka in general, is a hidden gem, and I hope more and more people start to recognise it for its excellent travel and safe destination! Furthermore, as a Singaporean myself, it is so convenient to be travelling from Singapore to Sri Lanka. First, the Lodge's exceptional interior and design, the humble staff, and excellent service is unbeatable. From the minute we arrived, the reception, the restaurant, the bar, and all the staff up to management - every single team member cared about our experience during our stay at the property. The rooms are beautiful; our cocoon had such fantastic interior and was spotlessly clean throughout the stay. Now on to the best part of us, the Safari. We were greeted on arrival by so many deers strolling the grounds, which set the amazing scene from the outset. The Safari at Yala national park was fantastic - we saw loads of wild buffalos, peacocks, birds, monkeys and many other animals. On our second day, we were extremely lucky to spot a leopard and ended our day with elephants upon us returning back to the property. Our ranger Surangawa was so knowledgeable about the wildlife, ensured that he tried his best to get us a chance to see the leopards and the elephants and we did! After our safari drive and dinner, our cocoon suite felt like we were sleeping in nature, yet at the same time felt super luxurious. It was so nice to rest there after our safari drives! The food and cocktails were delicious, too, especially the Sri Lankan experience for dinner and the string hoppers for breakfast! For a few nights, we also requested to dine near the ocean, under the stars; it was extraordinary. This is my favorite property in my lifetime in Sri Lanka. I want to thank Ravindra Weerappuli and Abhishek De Silva for their kind hospitality and ensuring that our stay was a memorable one. We will definitely be back! …
Stayed in the cocoon only for 1 night, but very reluctant to leave. The cocoon was so cute and colonial style decorated. Food so delicious. We had a special dinner on the beach, under the stars. Here I have to high light the bar guy. So sorry I forgot your name. 17th Feb on duty bar guy who made the cocktails. He is so young but very talented, making the best cocktails I have ever tasted in Sri Lanka. We also took part in the game drive. The driver just flew on the ground, very experienced driver. And the game drive was organised very well. They made booking online so that we could jump the very long queue outside the gate. About 100 vehicles in the queue. And service during the whole stay were always very good. We moved to the neighbour resort the next day, and the manager even used his own car to transfer us. Thanks a lot! Every one here made you feel they are friends, not waiters or just hotel staff. They were with all their hearts.…
We had an amazing time staying at Wild Coast for a week. The location, rooms, and main buildings are all beautiful, sensitive to the location and the food was fantastic. The staff were all excellent and really made the trip for us. There were lots of nice touches that made it feel very special throughout. Our ranger Amidu was superb. Extremely knowledgable and friendly, and he also helped us explore a few areas (nature walk, Bundala Park) on top of Yala, as we were staying for a bit longer than usual, and to tailor the trips to suit my wife, who is pregnant. Would totally recommend.
I stayed at Wild Coast Tented Lodge as a solo traveler when touring around Sri Lanka after a work trip. Not only was it incredible and luxurious, but it's one of the most unique places I've ever stayed. Each room is a "cocoon" with a comfy bed, rainfall shower, copper tub, and some have pools. I paid the extra for a pool cocoon, and it really came in handy given how hot it was. You don't really need one though, since the lodge's pool is huge and very nice. The ground of the place are absolutely gorgeous. There are watering holes meant to attract interesting wildlife (I saw a buffalo and a ton of monkeys in my 3-night stay) and a beautiful beach with dunes you can climb up to enjoy the waves crashing and sea breeze in peace. They offer a free safari each day of your stay (morning or afternoon), and I had a great time doing all three (plus one in Udawalawe on my way to Wild Coast) with Tilanka and Indika. Joined by a British couple for most of them, we spotted multiple leopards, elephants, interesting birds, and other animals. At the end of the day, they light up the beach for their "sundowners cocktails" which was a really cool treat for watching the sunset and getting to know your fellow travelers. The food at the restaurant is nothing short of incredible. Each meal was exquisite and reminded me that I was not, in fact, "roughing it." A word to the wise: It isn't really safe to leave the property, so if you like to explore like I do, you really can't wander too far here. For my runs, I was relegated to a 600m loop around the property. Not a big deal for most, but just a heads up. I'm certain this is the case for all properties near a safari park and was thankful to have a place to at least get some loops in for my runs/walks. As one of my walks, I did a guided nature walk with Tilanka which was also a great time! Save up the money and go here. It's a true luxury safari experience that rivals anything in South Africa or Tanzania.…
I have never been on Safari before but this hotel has converted me! The rooms are quirkily designed and unique, the beds SO comfortable, it really is like being a Victorian explorer (except with air con and AMAZING 5* food!). You don't get a view of the sea FYI but you can from the restaurant pool area. What has to be pointed out as exceptional is the IMMACULATE service. Everyone is SO wonderful and chatty. You feel like part of a family and you are even joined at the evening drinks by the hotel staff which is lovely. The best part of all is the safari trip(s) which are made incredibly special by the rangers who go with you. All of them are really knowledgable and engaing. All the rangers seems great but were incredibly lucky to have Surangan whose absolute passion for nature was infectious. He knows everything but his enthusiasm and charm made every trip a joy. You have the same ranger for the whole stay which is lovely as they know what you've seen, what you haven't and Surangan made it his MISSION that we would have as great a time as possible. We saw Elephants (who charged at us and exceptional driving got us away), we saw a leopard stalking buffalo. And we just has the most wonderful time. If we hadn't seen a single animal it would still have been memorable, We would highly recommend!…
Outstanding service from beginning to end! From the chef & kitchen staff to management to our safari guide - everyone was just wonderful and made us feel at home. Our young kids didn't want to leave and would love to go back ASAP.
We had a great experience from the moment we were picked up for our transport to Wild Coast. They had prepared a lunch for us for our drive, and the thoughtfulness continued throughout our stay. We were welcome with a drink and a popsicle upon check in, our room was spotless, and our safari guide was very knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to see many elephants, water Buffalo, sambar deer, and even three leopards!! Don't miss the Sundowners event every evening on the beach with drinks and appetizers.
Amazing beautiful location. Safari is OK but the hotel, rooms and service are very good. The quality of the food especially given the remote location is amazing and the staff were great. Make sure you get back early from your PM safari to enjoy the sundown drinks which are spectacular with a large open fire. Our 3 little ones really liked rock jumping on the beach!
