My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this incredibly beautiful hotel in the wildlife reserve in August 2024. As a Gold Honors member, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a Premium Pool Villa, which turned out to be one of the best rooms we've ever experienced in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the reception, restaurant, and housekeeping staff treated us like true VIPs. The Front Office Manager Bhasura Rajapaksha was exceptionally helpful, ensuring all our needs were met.
A special mention goes to Chef Jerome Tissera, who personally checked in on us every time we dined at the restaurant, making our culinary experience even more memorable. The food was consistently excellent, and the entire staff demonstrated the utmost professionalism. Their impeccable service truly made us feel like VIPs throughout our stay.

Having stayed at Hilton resorts for over 25 years and many other brands this has to be the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the check in to leaving I could not ask for a better experience. The hotel is relatively new but looks so established in the wonderful surroundings, it could have been there for years. The room was perfect and we saw an elephant wandering outside the room, the ranger called us and helped us follow at a safe distance. The food was Michelin starred and the Executive Chef Jerome Tissera was always available for a chat about the food - his team are amazing. I can't wait to return truly sensational experience.

If I had to choose the ONE thing that made our stay so enjoyable it would have to be the staff..... and I mean all of them. The staff at reception were so welcoming, the restaurant staff gave excellent service as did the bar staff, and the unseen chefs working in the kitchen produced memorable meals under the watchful eye of the Executive Chef Jerome who with the GM Gitanjali were always on hand to ensure expectations were being met. I would also like to include the housekeeping staff who did an excellent job, and the buggy drivers who were so helpful.....and finally a special thank you to Michelle who gave me a great massage in the Spa. I often think a hotel is only as good as its staff....and the staff here were the making of our trip. The suite we were given was very comfortable with a well equipped bathroom and there was a private pool. Modern technology is used to control many of the features in the room including the curtains. The main swimming pool is one of the most interesting hotel pools I have ever seen and very different from the ubiquitous rectangular shaped pools. So we were happy to spend a lot of time there. All in all the facilities were excellent but the stand out feature at this hotel is the quality of the service given by the staff.

My family and I spent an unforgettable weekend at this exclusive property in early November. It is resort that is specifically geared to give guests the chance to truly commune with nature. With its ‘no fences’ policy, wildlife roam freely through the resort – as indeed they should. We have the privilege to observe, admire and enjoy their antics whilst we relax and recharge in pampered luxury.
The staff - in all their respective fields - has been well trained. They communicate in English, are knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was excellent, the service prompt and efficient and attention to detail par excellence!
A warm note of thanks and appreciation goes out to General Manager Geethanjali for spearheading a bold venture which began very recently. Special mention must also be made about Mr. Indika the Assistant F&B Manager, Executive Chef Jerome, Vino, Iresha and Deshan at the front office, Lakmal and Viranjan who gave us a unique experience to try our hand at bar tending, our servers Sujeewa and Prabuddha, our buggy drivers Thushara and Sashen and Dinesh who saw to the housekeeping duties in our chalets. The ground staff too, was kind, courteous and discreet.
The chalets with its private plunge pools or hot tubs are well appointed, designed to blend in with nature and are eco friendly at every turn.
From the moment we arrived till the time of our departure, everyone went to great lengths to ensure that we had a wonderful experience. With clear instructions given regarding the wildlife, we felt safe, happy and assured. We didn’t want to leave!
We wish Hilton Yala Resort and its amazing staff all the very best. And for all you nature lovers out there, this haven should definitely be on your bucket-list! We will certainly visit this resort soon!

We made a spontaneous booking at this hotel the night before our arrival, enticed by the appealing photos and positive reviews.
Given that the hotel was relatively new, I initially had reservations despite the impressive visuals and glowing testimonials. I suspected that the reviews might have been from a press trip with travel bloggers arranged by the hotels PR as they were all so positive. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything written about the hotel was indeed true and accurate.
It's safe to say that this hotel ranks among the most special ones I have ever experienced.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the interior and architecture are tasteful, modern, and blend harmoniously with the surroundings. The villas are beautifully designed, with stunning bathrooms, spacious and cozy beds, and large sized private pools, providing a truly comfortable, peaceful, and rejuvenating experience. It was nice to be in the middle of nature whilst still being in luxury surroundings.
We were fortunate to witness elephants strolling through the hotel grounds, along with monkeys and various other wildlife—it was a truly amazing sight.
Our private safari adventure was equally unforgettable, we were lucky enough to see elephants, monkeys, leopards, crocodiles, and water hogs, among other animals in the national park.
The food! The food was amazing! Nothing was a hassle, the chef Shaakir Majeed and his team provided us with well thought out, delicious meals.
I usually find hotel cocktails to be a little bit mehhh but both bartenders actually understood wine and spirits and gave us some of the best drinks I have had in a long time!

We must commend the GM and Management of Hilton Yala for the excellent standards of training maintained at all levels. From the warm greeting at the entrance by Rifka and the ride to our villa ably piloted by Seshan, to the introduction by Exec Chef Jerome De Tissera, the wonderfully crafted innovative menus, the tastefully laid out Villa with its private pool, the attentive, smiling and courteous staff- special mention of Vishmi, Manohari and Indika in the restaurant and Sanjeewa from housekeeping - the huge contoured outdoor pool surrounded by walkways through the natural vegetation attended by always smiling maintenance staff, the travel buggies manned by Seshan, Pasan and Ranjith always ready to be available at a moment’s notice, the Safari conducted by knowledgeable Ranger Praneeth, the front desk staff who was always willing to accomodate any request, led by Vino and his team Special mentions to Migara and Vinuli, and last but not least the facilities so well maintained by Dinesh and Nayomi. The stay was an experience like none other.

I would like to thank all the staff for what was an incredible experience.
Every single thing was top class from the day we checked in until the day we left.
It was planned we would only stay two nights but the experience was so good we stayed an extra three days which made our honeymoon a very special time.
I will start with the reception staff who welcomed us who were so friendly welcoming and attentive.
The restaurant, bar and chefs were amazing nothing was any problem and made tailor made meals for us.
Given the beautiful location it is needed at certain times that you will be needed to be collected from your accommodation and brought to the main area and the staff who did this were so friendly and engaging every time they collected us.
The room was fabulous so good we didn’t want to leave and a big thank you to the staff who regularly wanted to refresh the room and mini bar.
I would like to mention specific members of staff because of their attentiveness but if I was to do so I would need to mention each and everyone as the service was beyond top class with each and every staff member making a contribution to the overall experience we had.
Finally it has to be said the general manager was an absolute lady and the work she does to encourage her team to provide such a service is remarkable. This along with her contribution to the local communities is an example as to how leadership should be seen.
We really can’t wait for our next visit and thank you for such a memorable experience keep up the great work !
