The rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped. You live in top of a lovely oub so unless you sleep like a log like moi, you may find the music annoying. The rooms are situated only 15 mins walk from Blantyre’s pride, David Livingstone Birthplace and jut 7 mins walk from the train station. Laid back, nice staff.

I stayed here as I was attending a local family function. On arrival I was surprised to find it was rooms above a pub on a busy road. Not something I would usually book.
You enter through the pub door and I received a warm welcome. A customer even offered to carry my bags upstairs for me.
Access to the rooms is by quite a steep metal staircase at the side of the building. I was in room 2, there are 4 rooms none of which have numbers on them. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom has no toiletries but I always take my own anyway. The shower is small but was ok for me. There is a mirror on the bedroom wall but at 5' it was to high for me to see in which made doing my hair difficult. I found the room very warm even though there was no heating on. I slept with the bedroom window open and although there was some noise from the street not enough to keep me awake.
There is no breakfast provided but there is a 24 hour Asda's a couple minutes walk away.
I would recommend here if you want a comfortable nights sleep at a good price. I would return in the future if I was in the area.

A really clean comfy bedroom with good quality soap and wonderfully easy shower. The bathroom radiator was on and was a welcome feature of this authentically Scottish accomodation. Whilst located in a rather basic area of housing, the friendly bar staff extended me a very warm welcome and I can recommend the beer and whiskies in the bar below the bedrooms.

Booked 2 rooms for our stay here. Stayed Friday and Saturday nights, the rooms are nice and clean, spacious and have a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. Good sized TV on the wall with plenty of channels to choose from. The bathroom is well equipped and spacious also, clean with a decent shower.
Downstairs is the owners pub, which can, as pubs do, has live/ loud music and people outside talking and generally acting as you expect in a pub. So there is noise but it's over a pub so expect it. The traffic is constant outside, it a bust road and there is a big junction outside but you soon get used to it if you don't fixate on it.
Only negative was the WiFi, although there were instruction re the password etc., the actual WiFi network wasn't showing up on our devices, not a big deal though as the 4Gsignal is good here so you can just use your data instead.
All in all a convenient location with some good eating places nearby.
It's on our list of places we will use again.🙂

Very poor cleanliness. Mould round windows. Blood on mattress. bathroom extraction fan very dirty. cobwebs on bathroom walls. Light switches not working. Inadequate room lighting. Car Park difficult to find. Parking area and access to room via a steel staircase was a building site. Dustbins in parking area was over flowing with food waste.

This appears to be a new venture for these people. Nice new clean room is above the pub, but noise was not too significant.
They have problems, but they are fixable:
Sheets that feel like brown paper towels. No toiletries, not even a bar of soap. A shower so small you literally have to open it up if you drop the soap that you brought with you. Wifi so bad, I could not even hook up to it. A drunk down below who physically did not want to let go of me and kept insisting I drink with him. Yes, that was fun.
But room was clean. Earplugs shut out most of the noise. It was cheap. Good Chinese take away across the street.
I survived one night while traveling. And I have a "story". Did I mention it was cheap? Lol. If that is your primary criteria, come on in, you will be happy!
I am sure in time they will make adjustments to the other things. In the meantime, enjoy the cheap clean room and the good Chinese takeaway!
