These modest, wooden houses have their own history that you can almost touch. This place is located in a quiet area, close to the water (however there is no 'beach', no comfortable place to jump into the water). What's important is that the restaurant serves very tasty, regional meals.

The accomodation consists of massive, wooden re-constructed houses, moved up the hillside from their original location on the valley floor before it was turned into a reservoir. Each building is unique with an ancient charm but modern facilities. There is a small restaurant, very reasonably priced with a wood burning stove and a young but attentive staff. Prices are very reasonable (about 200 zl or $60 a night for a room) and rooms clean. This is an excellent "get away from it all" peaceful haven and a very good base for skiing holidays in the winter (nearest lift is about 5 kms away) and walking holidays in the... More

“Rooms on the south side have the mountain/lake view - but also mountains to the north. Room 9 in the Villa Jozefa Galoly had space for 3 and a beautiful view of snow capped mountains.”
  • View to the south, Tatra mountains and the Slovak border.
  • View down the valley (east) to the two castles. One an excellent restaurant and the other a muse
