Warm, gracious, welcoming, beautifully decorated but not over the top as often happens at a BnB. Spaulding Inn was delightful. I chose this Inn because I have many allergies and I really appreciated the comfortable, organic bedding; attention to sustainability practices; farm-fresh, creative and accommodating breakfast to dietary restrictions; super clean rooms and bathroom. I was in a corner room...

I have stayed here a couple of times now and love it. When I visit my daughter at Grinnell, she wants to get out of her dorm and sleep in one of the cozy rooms too. The price of rooms is extremely reasonable. The breakfasts are lovely and Valerie is a wonderful host!

We had a great Easter Weekend at the Spaulding. It was very quiet there so we had breakfast in the privacy of the little room for two people just off the main dinning area. It was a very intimate setting we enjoyed very much. If you want to get to know what the heart of America is really like get...

My daughter and I stayed here during a visit to Grinnell College. We stayed in the Oak Burr room which has a private bath. The room was very spacious with a comfy bed, beautiful handmade quilt, sofa, walk in closet, TV and spacious shower with organic bath/shampoo products. The inn is very comfortable with many areas for reading, relaxing or...

Waiting for my college student, I delightfully spent a January morning in an overstuffed comfy chair, wrapped in two home-knitted throws reading country life magazines. Prior to this, breakfast started with good coffee & heart-healthy hot cereal with fresh bread & home-made raspberry jam. Beautiful well crafted home, but sometimes hard to appreciate. (One suggestion: let the architecture breath. Think...

Driving through on a cold January night, my boyfriend and I made a spontaneous same day reservation and were warmly welcomed as the only guests for the evening. What a treat, we had the place and the family owners all to ourselves! They were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions too. This B&B wasn't here when I was a student...

I found this to be a relaxing and charming place....we stayed in the room with the private bath, which was really large. This house is a beautiful step back in time. It was fun to investigate every detail of they house. I felt I had taken a little trip back to 1915 or so....it was a really neat to imagine...

Valerie was very pleasant and accommodating. She had keys waiting for us and details about our stay readily available as well. The White Birch room comfortably accommodated three with...

Spaulding House is a lovely historic home with charming details. I stay there every year when in town for events at Grinnell College. Breakfasts are absolutely delicious. Guests are made to feel very welcome and feel comfortable spending time in the living room or the large enclosed porch rather than being confined to the guest rooms. It is a short...

We stay at the Spaulding House every year for a fall alumni event at Grinnell College. Valerie is very welcoming and Spaulding House is very accommodating for guests with children. The breakfasts are amazing and always include local and seasonal ingredients. There is a fantastic porch that is perfect for having drinks and talking with friends after the kids go...
