This is a very quaint and spacious older home a block from the Grinnell College campus with excellent amenities and Dorothy is a very nice hostess and really good cook. We enjoyed our brief stay, which was quite reasonably priced. If our daughter ends up at Grinnell, we know where we'll be bunking!

On a Grinnell College student drop off, my daughter made reservation & my stay, although only one night, spoiled me. I was exhausted but left the next day rejuvenated & ready for my world again. Everything is so lovely & spacious. My multi-headed shower with immediate regulated 75 temp & abundant water pressure, all cast aside my Puritan skepticism &...

This is an ideal place to stay if you are visiting Grinnell College. Located only 1 block from Grinnell's charming campus, it is very easy to walk anywhere you are going. The long-time owners Dorothy and Ray will welcome you to their B&B and serve up an excellent breakfast every morning (changes daily).

I enjoyed my stay at the Carriage house. The house was beautiful, and the room was just fine. However, the best part was the breakfast. The owner made everything from scratch, including granola which was awesome! I left stuffed. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent three days at the Carriage house. the rooms were very well appointed, most with private bath. The breakfasts were ample and very enjoyable. If a visit to Grinnell College is the object of the trip, you simply cannot get any closer, since the B&B sits just a block away. The owners are very accommodating and...

If you have a student at Grinnell College, do yourself a favor and stay with Dorothy at The Carriage House. Delicious breakfast and a charming property. You can walk everywhere in town from The Carriage House and will not need a car. I have stayed here several times and enjoyed my stay everytime.

This is a very pretty and brightly painted B&B, just a short walk to Grinnell campus. The breakfasts I had were delicious and filing. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom had everything I needed (soap and shampoo, though bring your own conditioner and I can't remember if there was body lotion). There is free wifi which was very...

A sumptuous, well-maintained old house with skillful, attentive proprietors. We were not the easiest guests (for various reasons), but Dorothy and Ray went well out of their way to make us feel at home. Location is just a block from the Grinnell campus. The sitting rooms downstairs are comfortable and inviting, with good wifi throughout the house. The rooms are...

I probably started off on the wrong foot by entering through the back door and kitchen. Apparently where Ray and Dorothy live. OK, the parking in the back is not for us. Ray was very nice about it though, can't say I would be if people were walking through my space. There is offstreet parking in the front of this...

When one goes to a B&B, it is for the atmosphere of the surroundings and the personality of the innkeeper. While the Carriage House was a beautiful old house with tasteful decor, the proprietor did not seem especially happy to see us. We were shown to our room but given no instructions as to what was a guest area and...
