On a wonderful rail trip, this is the place to stop off. Spectacular scenery and a really friendly cafe. The only reasonably-priced choice on the whole line - beware other, larger restaurants further on with staggering prices for nothing much.

Well, this is one of the strangest place I have ever been, on the top of the world, in a very clean and comfortable room, and a view that never ends. The staff is very friendly and the goulash soup is the best I ever had, be sure when you order food to order a sidedish of vegetables, they don't... More

A wonderful albergo! It doubles as a quaint little solid-rock train station with a restaurant and terrace that wraps around the side that hangs over the cliff. The views are fantastic and the food is tasty. It is no wonder many tourists make a break here along the Bernina express route. The hotel part is made up of nine newly... More

During a trip through Europe we stopped at this Hotel-restaurant, getting off the Bernina Express half way through the journey and spending a day and night here. To say that this charming establishment was wonderful would be an understatement. The old station house has been beautifully remodelled with rooms upstairs and an excellent restaurant downstairs. The staff were welcoming and... More

You can only get here by rail - or if really energetic, on foot. All the provisions are therefore freighted in by the Rhãtische Bahn, which owns the freehold to this place. A couple of years back they modernised the interiors and the beloved model railway which used to circulate on tracks around the restaurant walls has now been removed... More

Like a lot of people we stopped off at this lovely train station with the magnificent views for lunch before continuing our journey. This is the second visit, the previous being a couple of years ago when it was a pleasure to lunch at this establishment. The same can't be said on this occasion. We waited for a table outside... Barely you would find more romantic place! Great view to the alpine railway (paradise for trainfreaks!), to the glacier and the surroudning alpine world. After the last train leaves and before the first one arrives next morning its just you and the Alps (plus a few other guests as there are only 8 rooms or so). Moreover its still affordable,... More

We stoped for lunch while traveling with Bernina express.. The panorama from terrace is truly amazing. At 2.091 m this place surrounded by breathtaking glaciers and mountains, lakes and wild nature, I could stay observing it for many hours. Great service and quality, reasonable prices and also important free internet.

The Bernina express stops here for 17 minutes on the inward and outward journey, clearly passengers are meant to sample the station restaurant's fare. I accept that establishments in such positions have higher overheads but baulked at double espressos twice the price paid in cafes in Tirano just down the line. Nice clean restaurant and good food otherwise.

We were 'doing' the Bernina Express - hiking most of the way. This was booked for us and I had low expectations as the rooms would not be ensuite. I was Sooo wrong. The rooms were lovely with sink, toiletries, selection of food and drink (chargeable) and even a hair dryer. Ok you had to sprint across the corridor to... More
