A great hotel! The kids (ages 6, 9, & 11) got a big kick out of the staircase. Very historic, very informative. A cool hotel in a cool little town. This place is truly a delicious slice of small town Iowa history.

Even during the construction of the roads surrounding the hotel it was magnificent. Came in late Saturday evening. Room was perfect. Modern bathroom and the bed. . It was amazing. Stayed for the Sunday brunch that was again amazing. The bartender was great. I cannot say enough good about this place.

Nice place if you are in to historic. Really like that they have a late check out if needed and you won't be charged until 1:00. Thought it was overpriced on the weekend, but it looks like the rates during the week are reasonable. The construction in town makes it impossible to find the place, but that is no fault...

The decor is spot on for the period of when the hotel was built (late 1800's). It had high ceilings, crown molding and beautiful chandeliers through out. Out room was a 2 room suite with 2 very comfortable beds and lovely white linens. It was extremely humid and hot when we were there in mid July but the AC in...

We were back in town visiting and stayed at the Decker Hotel again. Once again, it did not disappoint. Main Street was under construction, staff was very helpful in giving directions and getting around the town. There was music in the bar area downstairs, we were glad to see the local people seem to enjoy the Decker as much as...

We were Maquoketa for a wedding and selected the Decker due to its proximity to the reception. We had no idea what a great boutique hotel we had selected. True it is on the older side and as a result might be a bit musty, but I think that is to be expected. The staff was very friendly. Our king...

I was at the Decker Hotel for the weekend to visit family. I was traveling with my mother, boyfriend, and young puppy. The hotel staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly. It was a little difficult to get to the hotel due to construction on Main Street, but it was well worth the trouble. We stayed in a large room...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay while at the Decker Hotel. We appreciate you battling through the construction outside our building. I am happy to announce that will all be over very soon and the main street will be open again. I believe the room you stayed in was our Suite 200, our most popular and...

The Hotel Staff is the most friendly I have encountered in my travels. The beds were very comfortable with the softest linens and down comforters! The bath towels were soft and thick. The furnishings were antiques and comfortable. The food at the Restaurant was very good. This will be the Hotel we use from now on when we visit! Thank...

Our family arrived late on a Saturday nights and the helpful staff was all ready for us. The building and the lobby are unexpected grand surprises in a small town. Our rooms had terrific high ceilings and beautiful wallpaper. Next day we enjoyed the hotel's superb Sunday brunch--big compliments to the chef for preparing a delicious spread including baked salmon,...

This old hotel has been kept up quite well. The room we had was tiny, maybe 10x12 with 2x3 attached bathroom. Restaurant inside does not open until 4pm and you have to phone the attendant on duty to come down to the desk. We couldn't find a working vending machine.
