I can believe this is the best motel in Same, but it is below standards I'd find acceptable in the US. The bathroom smelled of mildew and the shower in my friend's room didn't work very well. Cleanliness was barely passable but not great. On the plus side, the problem of my toilet running was fixed on the first night....

Same is a small town some 100 kms south of Mt Kilimanjaro. It hasn't much to offer, but with road travel in Tanzania taking longer and longer as the number of vehicles increases and 50 signs seems to grow like mushrooms along highways it is good to be able to break up your travel in shorter chunks. Then Same and...

We stayed here after our safari in Mkomazi. It's about 20 minutes from the gate and the best option in town. It's cheap, clean, and even has some atmosphere. Hot water works, decent bathroom. Monkeys in garden. Restaurant available. Local real Tanzania vibe. Playground for the kids.

The Elephant Motel is excellent. It is set among a large grove of trees complete with a troop of monkeys and a pack of mongooses. The rooms are comfortable with good AC and hot showers. Wifi is pretty good. The food is quite tasty. The manager and the staff are very friendly. Really, the grounds are so lovely and quiet....

I travel between Dar es Salaam and Nairobi and frequently break up my trip at the Elephant Motel. Same is hardly a tourist destination. It would silly to expect the amenities one would find in Dar es Salaam or Arusha, and so the place would not merit four stars in those places. However, for where and what it is, it's...

There are not touristic destinations nearby, so it is just transit clean guest house. Food is basic. Wi-fi is free but used by locals and very slow, available only in public areas. It is worth to get a short rest.

We stayed here for one night on our wildlife tour of Northern Tanzania to visit the nearby Mkomazi National Park. We were given room 102, basic but clean. The room had a large double bed, table and chair, comfy chair, wardrobe, bedside table, stand for a suitcase and a small old fashioned TV. The bathroom was a good size with...

There is very nice facilities at the hotel. We were camping with our own tant. the camping site is at a very nice spot with many harmful monkeys around. We had a great time and the restaurant at the hotel is very recommendable too.

Neat and clean motel and grounds. Restaurant offers a variety of foods, not everything available. Free wifi. No drive in camping, but places for stand alone tents, with nice ablution facilities(hot water showers). Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff.

We had a good stay whilst driving through Tanzania. Both the room and the food were plain and simple, but that was fine. It provided just what it said it would. I would recommend the Elephant Motel to anyone driving that route.
