We came here in a group for dinner. The restaurant is neatly designed and feel comfortable. We ordered individually and the food have mixed reviews. The food and soup actually come cold. I believe the timing of serving need to be coordinated between the kitchen and service staff. Coleslaw is very good. Lamb chop and chicken chop just ok. Rice dishes are not bad. But thumbs up to the service staff, very accommodating and great in attitude. Price is fair considered we are deep inside here and choices are limited. If you are around this area, consider to give it a try.

I have been doing a lot of research before my trip to Kundasang with my wife and son. We stayed in a few resorts before, but H Benjamin was first. The drive up there is quite a distance because is right at the top of the hills. but the view of the hotel was great. the view at night when the hotel switches off the lights, you can see the entire sky filled with stars and if you lucky you will get Milkyway. Ask the staff for BBQ at the open area, you will not regret it. Cons - Some staff do not know their menu (what they do not have or finished from the menu, they will take your order, then come back moment later and tell you, what you order is no longer available) - Food can be improve - Can provide those hotel footwear (Selipar) because the floor can be very cold Pros - Friendly staff - The breakfast menu changes every day. - very clean and tidy place - very cold - The manager is very helpful and friendly - Quiet (Unless you get an uncivilized guest who does not know how to close the door quietly) - Outdoor BBQ Overall, I will definitely come here again!

The place is nice and all. The food on the other hand are disappointing. Its a little bit overpriced and not as tasty. I got cold fries in my fish amd chips. The fish are almost burned too which was not pleasant. Please improve your food.

Yes the room is basic with only bare essentials but it is the best looking and well maintained compared to other mountain lodge in the area with that price. The property overlook the Kinabalu peak so when the cloud disappear, you will get a clear picture of the peaks. Room has TV and hot water. Any other things, you will need to go down to reception to request. You wont need any aircon as the weather is very cold and even colder at night. We have stayed 2 nights and had a pleasant time there. P/S: The property is a near a stream which you can visit.

Booked this place as it look really nice from the pictures shown on boiking webpage... As it is 2.5 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu, we paid for a chartered minibus as well.... Upon arrival, we notuced that the hotel is located very close to the road, and one could hear every vehicle passing. The hotel is also located quite close to High Voltage cables as well. The building is worn and run down and nothing like whatbwas shown on the photos on-line. The family room we booked is very very basic with no amenities at all. Not even a simple kettle. The rooms obviously has been badly maintained, with cracks and peeling of paints seen in many places.. The walls between rooms must have been very thin as we could hear everthing from the next room and the room below us... All the staff have been very friendly and helpful though... The view of Mount Kinabalu is excellent but get blocked by cloud most of the day. Best time to view is around 6:30am to 7:30am.... The chartered van from city to the hotel was good as it stopped in one or two places worth visiting... The hotel charge was very expensive compared with some of the 5 star hotel charge in Kota Kinabalu ! With so many other small hotels and homestat available, I would not recommend this place
