Relaxing location with Mt Kinabalu view chalet, a place to relax away from the city. Cold weather at night time. Quiet and comfortable room with couple, group and double decker bed room option. Clean room with kitchen utensil. Can rent bbq stove from the chalet. Overall is good.

Booked via WhatsApp because my earlier confirmation via trip.com was somehow "cancelled". Found out that the vendor did not have official connection with Philip Garden booking management.I was a bit frustrated because I was on the way driving to Kudasang without knowing my booking was cancelled by trip.com. However I directly call Phillp Garden and it was a fast response by Phillip Garden management to get a chalet for me. So guys becareful to 3rd party booking. Arrived at the resort at 3pm, greeted by the owner who was so friendly, and in no time our chalet was perfectly ready. With price per night that worth every penny, this place was perfectly for those who want to take time to relax and chill out with families and friends. I rented BBQ pit plus the utensils for Rm30, and bought charcoal for Rm20, and the night was perfectly for our BBQ. We did some cooking as well as the chalet provided basic kitchen equipment and tools. We did brought our own towels as I read from previous visitors mentioned that no towels provided. No doubt that after numbers of homestay/resort that I've stayed in Kundasang, Philip Garden ranked top of them all. Thanks Phillip Garden for the lovely place and great chalet!

The chalet was clean and basic with ample space for guests. It has some amenities such as hot water, box tv, and basic kitchen equipment along with a fridge and stove. The view although is priceless, it needs some traveling to reach the chalet from Kundasang roundabout. It took us about 15-20 minutes of uphill bumpy ride. Areas for improvement: 1. Thicker blankets/comforter. Felt blankets would be good as the sponge comforter simply takes too long to warm up the body. 2. Provide hairdryer. It is not even available for rent. 3. Customer service from the lady boss. She could have been more polite to her guests. Check-in is by 5pm and late check-in charges applies. When we texted to tell the management we are on our way at 4.30pm, her first response was, "Why are you so late? My workers get off work at 5pm. Any complaints must be made before 5pm or they won't be entertained." We were rather appalled by this impatient behaviour and this is least expected from someone in the hospitality industry. Overall: I would recommend the place to those who want some R&R in the mountains BUT I hope the lady boss is better behaved towards other guests. Things to bring when staying at Philip Garden: 1. Toiletries 2. Food 3. Hairdryer 4. Warm clothing

The place is well maintained and clean. We saw the workers and the boss doing the cleaning everyday during our 3-nights stay there. Its view of Mount Kinabalu is breath-taking and the temperature is just so nice. A super great place for a weekend get-away for a cool climate if you happen to live in Sabah. Plenty of places for you to cook (gas stove & refrigerator provided) for yourself or even barbeque outdoor (RM30)! At late night, we like to do star-gazing! The sky is so near and you can see whole lots of stars as if they were touchable!
