We have just spent two very relaxing days in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve, staying at the Samburu Simba Lodge. The lodge is placed in a wonderful situation with views overlooking the river and the expanse of hills beyond to the North. The staff were extremely friendly and most accommodating. The food was generally ok, plenty of it but unimaginative. The... More

We had a great weekend getaway in Buffalo Springs, which falls between Isiolo town and Archer's Post. As soon as we drove into the reserve we started seeing the unique species of Kenya's north, such as the Grevy's zebra and the Rothschild giraffe. I was impressed by the density of wildlife and the unique dry land terrain. Although in the... More

Stayed for 2 nights with my husband and 2 young children, found it to be very pleasant. The rooms are spacious enough for us all to get in, with an excellent large balcony and loungers. The bathroom is large and modern, and we had an excellent room boy, Lawrence who made sure we more than catered for. Our waiter was... More

Great place to be on a holiday. Large air conditioned rooms, good housekeeping. No internet or TV in the rooms which to me was a plus. Children well taken care of. Improvement on the menu in needed, was there for 5 days over Christmas and the menu was more less the same thing. Restaurant service was a bit slow and... More

My daughter and I stayed at Samburu Simba Lodge for two nights. Our room and bathroom were both a good size and clean. The view was amazing. But the thing that made this hotel so special were the staff. The electricity was turned off from 11pm until 5am on our first night, (of which we were informed about when we... More

Very limited electricity hours. Wifi was basically available in the bar/lounge area, but not functioning the whole 2 days. They where not able nor in anyway interested to fix it. During the day it got extremely hot in the room and since electricity was turned off you could not even use the small ventilator. Food was something between average and... More

The lodge is well located in one part of the Samburu reserve. Rooms are pretty big with very nice landscape. Outdoor pool in which you can swim and look to the reserve and enjoy the great views. Service was very good. The only things they can improve a bit is the food: Lunch & Dinner are OK, Breakfast the variety... More
