We checked in on Monday the 17th. We were given a room on the bottom floor, no elevator, no ramp, had to take every thing down a little at a time as the luggage carts can't go there... room had spider webs, and dust everywhere, very musty smell and the A/C didn't work. After talking to the front desk they... More

It does appear the state of Kentucky is starting to put some more money in to the parks. There is a lot I love about this lodge. The view is amazing from all of the rooms. I have heard they have renovated the cottages. The indoor pool and fitness center in amazing...except this last time when an obnoxious large family... More

For all the people who complained of spiders, bugs, and "smells" : you are in a cabin, by the lake, in the woods! We loved this place and can't wait to come back, alone and with the kids ! Rooms are clean and it is beautiful here!

We stayed at the lodge in mid-October. Overall our stay was pleasant. The pluses of staying at the lodge have mainly to do with the beautiful outdoor setting. We took advantage of the hiking trails through the forest, as well as the paved path along the lake. The fall colors were just starting to show. If we'd been there a... More

We've been coming to Lake Barkley for more than 15 years and it can't be beat for a family vacation spot. It's set right on the lake; a marina is next door, you can fish from the dock, and there's a game room, small nature center and restaurant on site. It's best in the summer when the large outdoor pool... More

My wife and I were just recently out there and we found the blowing cold air into it. The outside temperature was at that time in the 60's so checked the thermostat and switched it to heat setting but it would not work. I called the front desk for help they said they'll have someone work on it and the... More

We rented a 2 bedroom cabin at Lake Barkley State Park last weekend. The cabin was adequate in space and we'll stocked. It was very basic, but comfortable. However, it was not very clean. The floor seemed OK, but it was obvious that someone had napped on one of the beds and the bed had not been changed. The kitchen... More

A stay at the lodge brings back memories of when I grew up in the area. Great view of lake from balcony. Clerk checking me even looked at available rooms to give me the best view. I really enjoyed my stay....quaint, quiet, and relaxing

We only stayed for a night, and didn't get to experience any amenities beyond our room. So with that in mind... If you enjoy dank, musty rooms, with moldy bathtub grout, spider infested balconies, and wood paneling so dark it sucks in light like a hospitality-sized black hole, then this is your #1 vacation destination! Our room had that "Cabin... More

The setting at the Lake Barkley Lodge is spectacular. Unfortunately, the state of Kentucky does not provide enough funds to properly maintain the property. For example, the carpet in our room was very dirty upon check-in. We asked the maid to vacuum it. She didn't have a vacuum cleaner on her cart and she went to get one. While vacuuming,... More
