After a lovely walk on Pegsdon hills , we arrived for our prebooked table (as we were a large group). We quickly ordered. Over an hour later, our extremely expensive food finally arrived. I had the soup of the day, which tasted like hot water...More
After a long walk around Pegsdon Hills the pub was a welcome watering hole. We also had a snack lunch but a number of choices on the menu were sadly unavailable. This was disappointing. Despite the pub being quiet, the food also took ages to...More

Booked this place for Mothers' Day as we had a very nice meal here a couple of years ago, but I can only think the management must have changed hands because the service was average at best and the food was awful.

In the early part of the 1985 we were out for a drive and being a town person I asked to be taken to a country pub. We eventually found a pub called "Live and let live" it had fields all around it and the pub sign had a Fox and a hen on it. It had an annex with a pool table and the lounge bar was very small with only two small tables I never found out where it was but we passed through Hitchen on way home I would love to revisit it. If it is your public have greatly improved it. Please advise me.

Hi. Only just checked my emails so apologies for the delay. It certainly sounds like this is the same place I visited in the summer. However, I don't recall seeing an annexe with pool table. Your description of the surrounding fields and the very small bar area are spot on. The Live & Let Live is set back off the road and nestles in the dip of the road. Hope this helps in some way.
